Sunday, March 29, 2015 at 11:00 am An auspicious collaboration at a historic venue! Dmitri joins with the CJS Quintet to celebrate the Los Angeles band's 15th Anniversary. A favorite jazz showcase since 1949, The Lighthouse Café of Hermosa Beach is where Chet Baker, Gerry Mulligan, Miles Davis and other giants recorded some of their most important albums. Known for “hard driving bebop leavened with soulful blues” (Los Angeles Times), the CJS Quintet features Chuck Johnson tenor saxophone, James Smith trumpet, Koji Ono piano, Sherry Luchette bass and Roy McCurdy (photo) drums.
