The Fabulous Thunderbirds :: STRONG LIKE THAT
“I’ve always wanted my music to stand up to my heroes’ music,” reflects Fabulous Thunderbirds co-founder and harmonica great, Kim Wilson. On Strong Like That, Wilson pairs his own compositions alongside his heroes: Clarence Coulter, Eddie Floyd, Eddie Holland and Cornelius Grant. The album balances the mournfulness of blues with all the joy of soul music.

"The T-Birds have spread their wings, but are always straight and true. Soul music became a recurring style for them, and especially for Wilson. Strong Like That retains a blues edge but lights a major blaze under that soul meter mercury.... The songs [Kim Wilson] wrote, and the unique covers here, make for one of the best T-Birds albums in some time." - Tom Clarke, Elmore Magazine

Over thirty years ago, The Fabulous Thunderbirds were the first band to come out with a rock ‘n’ roll beat that was basically the blues.

Mitch Kashmar :: WEST COAST TOAST
West Coast Toast is Mitch Kashmar's long-awaited third studio album from Delta Groove. This time out, Mitch pays tribute to his legacy, tipping his musical hat to the unique sounds of West Coast blues with a program of well-chosen covers mixed in with his own original compositions, all filtered through his own individualistic approach to the blues, and distilled down into the essence of what the blues is today. Together with the stellar backing musicianship of Junior Watson (guitar), Fred Kaplan (piano), Bill Stuve (bass) and Marty Dodson (drums), Mitch Kashmar ably proves that the golden era of West Coast blues harmonica isn’t behind us – it’s still happening right now!

"Few blues singers, songwriters, & harmonica blowers performing today can top Mitch Kashmar." - Living Blues Magazine

Gregg Martinez serves up Bayou Blues and Creole Soul
Gregg Martinez—whose blend of blues, R&B and powerhouse Louisiana soul music he describes as “bayou blues and Creole soul”—was born and raised and still lives in the Cajun country of south Louisiana.
The late Ed Bradley of TV’s 60 Minutes—upon seeing him perform at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival—called Gregg Martinez one of America’s greatest hidden treasures. He has performed throughout the U.S. and has toured South Africa, England, Wales, Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, and Vietnam.
Gregg has released eleven albums, including the 2016 release, Soul of the Bayou. This new CD is on Louisiana Red Hot Records label and is Gregg’s second national release on the label.
