Despite his mild mannered persona, Reggae hit-maker Nesbeth was in scintillating form over the weekend delivering a pair of thought provoking performances in Cleveland and Columbus, Ohio to the hundreds who turned out to witness the showcase.
Making his debut in both spaces the ‘New Gangster’ crooner was anything but reserved as he ensnared the audience with tracks like ‘Guns Out’, ‘My Dream’ and a moving tribute to his late wife amid the thirty minutes set.

The staple All-White Party at Pier One takes place on Tuesday, July 18, Sumfest Blitz on Wednesday, July 19 and the Sumfest Heavyweight Clash returns on Thursday, July 20. The festival concludes at Catherine Hall on Friday, July 22 and Saturday, July 23 with a most anticipated stage show.

Rudebwoy Entertainment presents the 6th annual Island Reggae Festival held at the Santa Clara County Fairgrounds, 344 Tully Road in San Jose, California. The event offerings in 2017 include activities on three stages with live music from around the world, and an Island Dance Showcase. The event also features carnival rides for children, the USO Car Club Showcase, a Youth Rugby 7’s tournament, an Island Tattoo Showcase and a free Diabetes Awareness clinic. 1494: Christopher Columbus sets foot on Jamaica.
1954: (some say 1955 or 1956): Jacob "Killer" Miller is born in Mandeville, Jamaica.
1977: Eagles' reggae-styled tune "Hotel California" peaks at #1 on the Billboard Pop Singles chart.
1998: Tommy McCook, veteran musician and former leader of the Skatalites, passes away on this day (or next morning) in his home in Atlanta, Georgea, from multiple complications including pneumonia. Age 71. (b. March 4, 1927, some say March 3)
2004: Producer and label operator Clement "Coxsone" Dodd dies of a heart attack at his studio in Kingston, Jamaica. Age 72.Ninja Man, Lady Saw and Mad Cobra among others, all backed by the band, is released by Virgin.
