Grady Champion :: ONE OF A KIND
Singer, harp player, guitarist, songwriter, producer, entertainer, GRAMMY Award winner and Mississippi native, Grady Champion’s release, One Of A Kind
, is his second album on his hometown label, Malaco Records and the 10th in his career. Champion wrote and co-wrote 11 of the 12 tracks. The Mississippi bluesman provides us with his own compositions and texts, brilliant harp and a lot of soul in his voice. Champion started with rap in his early career and with One of a Kind
he combines elements of hip hop into his style of contemporary blues. He feels it’s important to stay true to his blues roots, and has become one of the few artists still getting airplay. One Of A Kind
debuted at #1 in the Roots Music Report’s MS Album charts.
Grady Champion has been captivating audiences for more than two decades.

Zakiya Hooker… Another Generation of the Blues
When a woman sings the blues it is the most natural rhythm on the planet. Who else to better know and express the anguish of love and pain or the rollercoaster ride of joy and despair than a woman who has the full experience of life from the beginning to the end, and the intimate knowledge of motherhood and the intuitive gift of survival at her fingertips.
Zakiya Hooker knows this very well. The Detroit native made her debut performance in 1991 with her dad, John Lee Hooker, in Oakland, CA. She has since gone on to perform and record internationally, establishing her voice in a genre dominated by men.
Zakiya’s face has been seen on the cover of several well-known trade magazines including Billboard Magazine. Zakiya’s voice can be heard on advertisements for Lexus and AIWA, also on the soundtrack of the movie Chalk, ...Find more about Zakiya Hooker and her performance at the Chicago Blues Festival

Ghost Town Blues Band is the Must See show of 2017
Ghost Town Blues Band is gearing up for yet another road heavy summer this year with already two Canadian trips under their belt for 2017. These Memphis boys played about 25 festivals in 2016, laying their last tour van, “The Memphis Train” to rest after accruing 225,000 miles on the fairly new Ford E-Series. “We called it ‘The Memphis Train’ because we often have a line of cars waiting to pass when we lug our trailer uphill,” laughs Matt Isbell, GTBB front man. “We’ve been really fortunate to have 5 international tours set up already this year with more than a dozen festivals across North America but me and the boys are definitely itching to land a festival overseas sometime in the near future.” Ghost Town Blues Band has one of the most unique and entertaining live shows on the festival scene

The (2nd) 7th Annual Daytona Blues Festival, October 6-8, 2017
(Daytona Beach, Florida) - When Hurricane Matthew took a turn and began heading directly toward Daytona Beach last October, the organizers of the Daytona Blues Festival had to make a hard call. In the interest of the safety of our guests, talent and volunteers, we had to cancel the festival. This cancellation was indeed necessary, as the area experienced sustained hurricane winds Friday, October 7 (the scheduled first day of the festival) which knocked out power, downed trees, and forced a mandatory evacuation of the beachside. On Saturday, October 8, the festivals venue, Jackie Robinson Ballpark, was under water with major damage and no power. And many of the beachside hotels used by our many out-of-town visitors did not reopen for months.

When the scheduled artists were contacted and told of the cancellation, almost all asked to be invited back for 2017.
