Teresa James & The Rhythm Tramps :: BONAFIDE
Following her 2008 Blues Foundation nomination for Contemporary Blues Female Artist, and two subsequent Independent Music Awards, Teresa James' new album -- her ninth -- features a depth of performance and material that covers a wide range of musical territory and emotions. From the swampy rawness of the title cut to the urban strut of "Hollywood Way," Bonafide has something for everyone. Besides a bevy of well-conceived original songs, the band throws in a couple of cover tunes: "I Like It Like That," the great oldie by the "5" Royales, and James’ much requested version of John Hiatt’s "Have A Little Faith." With performances by some of Los Angeles' top musicians, the album lives up to its name.

Originally from Houston, Teresa James and her band The Rhythm Tramps have been working in the L.A. area and at blues festivals and clubs throughout the U.S. and Europe for many years.

Vintage#18 Debuts with a Bullet!
"...Robbin Kapsalis delivers vocals that slink through a smoky haze of Soul..." The Alternate Root, May 22, 2017
"...Grit is a solid debut." Blues Blast Magazine, April 27, 2017

D.C.-based Soul-Blues band Vintage#18 debuted at #5 on the Roots Music Soul Blues Album Chart, and have held the #1 spot for the last four weeks! Their album Grit reflects the band’s love of classic 60’s soul and blues, featuring original music from the band as well as their looks at ZZ Top and Bob Dylan, both of which get the serious blues treatment.

The buzz from their hometown of Northern Virginia speaks of the bands engaging live shows and the energy of Robbin Kapsalis. The reviews from Australia, Europe and the U.S. have been enthusiastic and airplay has been unusually strong. They agree that Vintage#18 is one to watch.

Delta Blues Museum to Participate in Blue Star Museums from Memorial Day through Labor Day
(Clarksdale, MS) - The Delta Blues Museum, Mississippi's first music museum, announced its participation as a Blue Star Museum, a collaboration among the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense, and more than 2,000 museums across America to offer free admission to the nation's active duty military personnel and their families from Memorial Day, May 29 through Labor Day, Sept 4, 2017.

The program provides families an opportunity to enjoy the nation's cultural heritage and learn more about their community, especially after a military move. A list of participating museums is available here. Museum director Shelley Ritter says the program holds special meaning, stating, "Delta Blues Museum has participated in this important initiative from its inception in 2010. Hope, Heroes & The Blues via Blues in The School conductor Tj Wheeler
Tj Wheeler has been conducting Blues in the Schools (aka...BITS) for 46 years. His multi-award winning program "Hope, Heroes & the Blues" has reached over a half a million students across five continents. The Missouri Blues Association first brought Tj to mid-Missouri 14 years ago. They connected Tj with Richard King as plans for the first Roots & Blues fest were being made. With the additional aid of Pam Sisson of Grant Elementary School, and the Missouri Arts Council, the first Columbia BITS residency occurred, cumulating with a performance at the inaugural Columbia Roots, Blues & Barbeque Festival. Since then Tj has come back annually, with the program expanding to more students and schools each year. Tj's motto is “We sing the Blues to lose the Blues” ...mid-Missouri students have been singing the Blues, as well as his praises, ever since.
