Milligan Vaughan Project :: MVP
The dynamic Texas duo of celebrated singer Malford Milligan and guitar slinger Tyrone Vaughan’s first album, MVP, was produced by David Grissom and Omar Vallejo on Mark One Records.

The MVP album features nine studio tracks recorded in Austin at Arlyn Studios and 512 Studios, as well as two tracks taken from their live show debut at the One 2 One club in Austin during SXSW. The studio tracks include originals written by Milligan, Vaughan and producer David Grissom, as well as Buddy Guy’s “Leave My Girl Alone,” “Compared to What” (popularized by Les McCann) and Rev. James Cleveland’s “Two Wings,” a beautiful acoustic gospel tune with just Milligan and Vaughan. The two bonus live tracks include the Grissom-penned “What Passes for Love” and the Freddy King signature tune, “Palace of the King,” that closes the album. ...Find more about this CD and these artists

Hot New Blues CD Black Cat Bone from II BIG just Released
Black Cat Bone is the latest hot CD from Northern California classic-rock band, II BIG (Two Big), and their first-ever blues release. It embodies the finest in classic and original blues, and stays true to the roots.

Produced by Indiana Slim with all-star musicians, the album creates classic, house-rockin’ boogie with a driving pulse and a live-in-the-moment vibe.

This CD was recorded with 1950’s Fender Tweed Amp tones that fire up rhythms more infectious than poison ivy and twice as hard to shake! Classic American blues as fine as an ice-cold beer on a red-hot day!

Produced and recorded by Russian River Records in Northern California, Black Cat Bone is now available on iTunes.

II BIG is available for booking. For more information and booking, contact Ken Ingalls at RiverRox Studios, P.O. Box 516, Talmage, CA, 707-367-1853, or email. ....Find links and more about ll BIG's Black Cat Bone

Mr. Handy's Blues…a musical documentary
(Memphis, TN) - Mr. Handy's Blues, a documentary on W.C. Handy, will be showing during the Indie Memphis Film Fest at the Playhouse On the Square (66 Cooper St., Memphis, TN) November 4, from 1 - 2:30pm. It will also be shown at the St. Louis International Film Festival in November 5 at The Stage at KDHX (3524 Washington Ave, St. Louis, MO) 7pm.

Ten years in the making, Joanne Fish's Mr. Handy’s Blues documentary chronicles the life of W.C. Handy, known as The Father of the Blues, and takes you into the often-unrecognized career of one of greatest songwriters America ever produced. W.C. Handy is credited with transforming African-American folk music that was handed down only through oral tradition into a purely American genre of music. Against all odds Handy forged a successful career in the post Civil War south, becoming a reknown bandleader, composer, and entrepreneur. He was the first African American to publish his own music, and in 1914 he wrote St. Louis Blues, which was the most recorded song in the first half of the 20th century. ...Find more details about Mr. Handy's Blues
