Earth Ministry is looking for a “colleague”
from Alki UCC. What is an Earth Ministry Colleague? Typically one or two people in every faith community lead the move toward sustainability and advocacy on behalf of their whole church. Earth Ministry calls these committed leaders Colleagues.
If you are the one who brings an environmental sensibility to your faith community, are a member of Earth Ministry, or feel the need to be part of a larger group that shares your values, this is for you!
Our new Colleague Connections program offers additional resources, local support, and regular contact to support the good work you are already doing. It’s a framework for Earth Ministry colleagues within a set geographic area to collaborate.
A benefit of this program is its flexibility. Earth Ministry provides guidance but each Colleague Connection determines how they would like to relate with one another.
Every other week, Earth Ministry will send you a short and sweet email update with current priorities and opportunity for action. We track current faith and environment issues so that you can focus on sharing them with your community and taking action.
All current members of Earth Ministry also have access to the newly updated Greening Congregations Toolkit that contains a wealth of resources to cultivate earth stewardship in faith communitiesContact us to request your digital copy today!
How to Get Involved Let Pastor Diane know, or email jessica@earthministry.org if you are interested in joining a local Colleague Connection. We are launching this program in Seattle area and then rolling it out across the state.
Visit www.earthministry.org to learn more about the organization and its mission.

Last month the Pacific Northwest Conference of the UCC (that’s us!) installed the Rev. Courtney Stange-Tregear as our Minister for Church Vitality. Courtney will be with us next Sunday in worship, and for conversation after worship.
She wants to hear from us about our church, and it will be well worth our while to hear from her.
