Leading healthcare tech provider SimplyHome expands local HQ

Last week, the Asheville Chamber joined SimplyHome LLC to celebrate an expansion to their new corporate offices in South Asheville. The newly remodeled 12,000 square-foot headquarters will house over 20 employees in sales, marketing, technology, research & development, and will allow for expanded manufacturing and training capacity for North American clients in the managed healthcare sector.
 
Founded in 2009, SimplyHome provides highly customizable assistive technology solutions that transform healthcare delivery for aging, disabled and veteran populations.
 
Janice Brumit, chair of the Economic Development Coalition, said, “SimplyHome reminds us that business can be a force for good, improving the lives of their customers and the communities in which they live.”

Local effort to conserve energy & protect region launches 3/22
The Blue Horizons Project is a comprehensive hub of energy-efficiency programs to empower community members to save money and help create Western North Carolina’s clean energy future. Asheville Chamber Vice President of Public Policy Corey Atkins has been part of the two-year collaboration between local government, business, nonprofit and environmental leaders working on this project.

The Blue Horizons Project is designed to improve access to energy-efficiency programs and resources for Buncombe County residents and businesses. The community is invited to learn more about the project and celebrate its launch with free food and giveaways at a reception from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, March 22 at the Edington Center Gymnasium, 133 Livingston Street in Asheville.

Spots open in networking group
Chamber members interested in expanding their business connections are invited to join our Tuesday morning Professional Networking Group. This group of professionals from multiple industries gathers three Tuesdays a month to develop relationships, support one another, learn more about each member's business and the kind of clients and opportunities each one is seeking. Only one representative per industry is permitted. Openings include: Financial Advisor, Physical Therapist, Caterer, Non-profit, Massage Therapist, Handy man, Landscaper, Home Inspector, Photographer, Auto Sales, Artist.

Survey on future of tourism
Buncombe County Tourism Development Authority (BCTDA) invites tourism and community stakeholders as well as consumers and residents to participate in a survey assessing the strengths and areas of opportunity for Asheville as a destination. The survey will run through Sunday night, March 18.
