Among his 30 published books for children and young adults are "Book of Black Heroes from A to Z," "Jamal’s Busy Day," "Pass It On: African American Poetry for Children," "Powerful Words: More Than Two Hundred Years of Extraordinary Writing by African Americans," "It’s Church Going Time," "Feelings I Love to Share" and "Friends I Love to Meet." His latest book is "We Rise, We Resist, We Raise Our Voices," an anthology co-edited with his wife and published by Crown Books for Young Readers. Wade has received a New Jersey Stephen Crane Literary Award; The Ida B. Wells Institutional Leadership Award (2008), presented by the Center for Black Literature; and the Madame C. J. Walker Legacy Award (2012) given by the Zora Neale Hurston-Richard Wright Foundation. He has also been inducted into the International Literary Hall of Fame for Writers of African Descent.

Minh Lê is the author of "Drawn Together," illustrated by Caldecott Medalist Dan Santat, and "Let Me Finish!," illustrated by Isabel Roxas (both published by Disney-Hyperion). He is currently writing "Green Lantern: Legacy," a graphic novel for the new DC Comics middle grade imprint, DC Zoom. He has also written for a variety of national publications, including The New York Times, NPR, and HuffPost. An early childhood policy expert by day, outside of spending time with his beautiful wife and sons, his favorite place to be is in the middle of a good book.

John Parra is an award-winning illustrator of books for young readers, including "Frida Kahlo and Her Animalitos" by Monica Brown, named a New York Times Best Illustrated Children’s Book; and "Marvelous Cornelius," by Phil Bildner, which won the Golden Kite for Picture Book Illustration. Other awards include the ALA Pura Belpré Honors, and Christopher’s Award. In 2015, John was invited by the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York to present a special event about his work. His art also can be seen at U.S. Post Offices on six new Forever Stamps titled "Delicioso." John’s most recent book, "Hey Wall" with author Susan Verde, was released in Fall 2018.

Laurel Snyder is the author of many books for young readers. Recent titles include "Orphan Island," which was long-listed for the National Book Award, and "Charlie and Mouse," which won the Geisel medal in 2018. Laurel has published work in The New York Times, The Boston Globe, the Utne Reader, the Chicago Sun-Times, the Revealer, Salon, The Iowa Review, American Letters and Commentary, and elsewhere. He also has illustrated picture books, such as "Gifts From the Gods," award-winning non-fiction such as "Samurai Rising," video games, museum exhibits, and more. His book rights have been sold into 20 foreign territories, as well as film. Chris grew up in Brooklyn, graduated from Cornell, and was a book editor for nearly two decades before a stint as an expat in Luxembourg. He lives primarily in New York City with his wife, twin sons and a Labradoodle named Wally.

Sarah Pekkanen is the internationally and USA Today best-selling author of eight previous novels. A former investigative journalist and award-winning feature writer, her work has been published in The Washington Post, USA Today, and many others. Sarah and her former editor Greer Hendricks co-authored the psychological thriller, "The Wife Between Us," which spent three months on The New York Times best-sellers list and is optioned by Amblin Entertainment, with Sarah and Greer writing the screenplay. Sarah and Greer's next thriller, "An Anonymous Girl," will be released by St. Martin's Press on January 9, 2018. Sarah is the mother of three sons and lives just outside Washington, D.C.

~ Non-Fiction ~
Lynne Olson is a New York Times best-selling author of eight books of history, most of which deal in some way with World War II and Britain’s crucial role in that conflict. Former U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright has called her “our era’s foremost chronicler of World War II politics and diplomacy.” Lynne’s latest book, "Madame Fourcade’s Secret War: The Daring Young Woman Who Led France’s Largest Spy Network Against the Nazis," will be published by Random House in Spring 2019. Born in Hawaii, Lynne graduated magna cum laude from the University of Arizona. Before becoming a full-time author, she worked as a journalist for 10 years, first with the Associated Press as a national feature writer in New York, a foreign correspondent in AP’s Moscow bureau, and a political reporter in Washington. She left the AP to join the Washington bureau of The Baltimore Sun, where she covered national politics and eventually the White House. Lynne lives in Washington, D.C., with her husband, Stanley Cloud, with whom she co-authored two books.

Kwame Onwuachi is the executive chef at Kith and Kin in Washington, D.C. Born on Long Island and raised in the Bronx and Nigeria, he trained at the Culinary Institute of America and worked at Per Se and Eleven Madison Park before opening his own restaurant.
