The Little Red Rooster Blues Band ::
LOCK UP THE LIQUOR
Since their formation in 1988, they have become one of the Delaware Valley’s premier blues bands, consistently delivering their own brand of blues, always combined with a crowd-pleasing, high-energy performance and a whole lot of fun.

The Little Red Rooster Blues Band is Kevin McCann on guitar/vocals, Dave Holtzman on harmonica/vocals, Jeff “Flourtown” Fats on bass, and Bob Holden on drums.

The band has built a community of friends and fans of the blues, one that cannot be matched. They have performed at clubs and festivals throughout the United States, and have even toured Europe on multiple occasions, averaging between 150 and 170 performances per year. To date, they have released 7 CDs of original material, all of which were widely acclaimed by critics and fans alike. In February of 2015, the band was inducted into the Pennsylvania Blues Hall of Fame, and in 2016, they were voted Best Band in Bucks County, PA, by the organization Bucks Happening.

In June of 2018, the band’s CD Lock Up The Liquor was released.

Blues Jukes & Jazz Streets with Bill Ferris and more
Here you can find a program segment from JPR Jefferson Public Radio a service of Southern Oregon University from their Rhythm & News Radio Schedule. The program is called American Routes and it’s hosted by Nick Spitzer on Sundays 2-4pm.

“We travel from Mississippi juke joints to the streets of the French Quarter to hear from those who record and perform music," says Spitzer. "Folklorist Bill Ferris recounts his experience documenting blues, gospel, fife & drum music and folk arts in the Mississippi delta and hill country. Ferris recently compiled his recordings in the Voices of Mississippi boxed set….”

And there's more.

Presenting a broad range of American music — from blues, jazz, gospel and soul, to rockabilly, zydeco, Tejano and roots rock – American Routes explores the shared musical and cultural threads that both distinguish and bind these diverse genres. The program also presents documentary features and artist interviews that take listeners on journeys riding legendary trains, visiting street parades, discovering roadside attractions and meeting tap dancers, fishermen and fortunetellers. The songs and stories on American Routes chronicle and celebrate both the community origins of American music and the musicians who create it.
