Photo Moments with the 17th Annual BFG Magazine!!
Here's blues-soul singer, guitarist, songwriter and Catfood Records recording artist James Armstrong with our Sales Director Cheryl O'Grady-Yearnshaw during the 2019 Blues Music Awards week in Memphis, TN.

Armstrong is a survivor in the truest sense having overcome and healed from a violent knife attack many years back from a home invasion that left him with permanent nerve damage. He's eternally thankful for the support of friends, fans and the blues community. Six albums later and continuing tours around the globe, he confirms, "the blues been good to me."

Terry Robb :: CONFESSIN’ MY DUES
Confessin’ My Dues is the 15th solo recording by Terry Robb who is hailed as one of the finest fingerstyle blues guitarists on the international scene. Drawing from the well of country blues to Coltrane, ragtime to Hendrix, Americana to American Primitivism, Confessin’ My Dues represents a lifetime of musical experiences and influences for Robb. Whether backed by his all-star band or flying solo, he moves deftly between instrumental tunes and lyrical numbers in 13 original compositions ranging from blistering instrumental blues and stunning ragtime fingerpicking to soulful singing backed by a powerhouse rhythm section.

“Every release that Terry Robb puts out is a cause to celebrate,” says Greg Johnson, president, Cascade Blues Association. “There are not many guitarists in the blues or any genre that you can come by that are as detailed and clever with their creativity. Confessin’ My Dues is yet another example of Terry Robb doing what he does best – leaving us with a sense of awe and joy with every note he plays. It’s a winning formula that continues to lead the pack.”

Delta Blues Museum Awarded Grant
(Clarksdale, MS) - Delta Blues Museum has been awarded a $23,100 grant from the Mississippi Arts Commission (MAC) for general operating support for the 2020 fiscal year. This grant is a portion of the nearly $1.4 million in funding to artists and arts programs across the state for FY2020, which began July 1, 2019. MAC grants are made possible by continued funding from the Mississippi State Legislature and the National Endowment for the Arts.

Malcolm White, executive director of MAC, offered his congratulations to all the recipients, adding, "One of the most important ways MAC supports the arts in Mississippi is through awarding grants to artists and organizations. In fact, half of MAC's annual funding is distributed to communities and individuals across the state each year to directly invest in the state's arts and culture."

"The Delta Blues Museum's work is greatly enhanced by support from the Mississippi Arts Commission," offers Museum Director Shelley Ritter, adding, “Art education connects students with their own culture as well as with the wider world. Here at the Delta Blues Museum we help make these connections through our exhibits, our arts & education program and other forms of outreach.

Semi-Finalists John Michael Agundez, Teddy Lee Hooker, Lenny Rankins, Kirk Browne will compete Friday, November 8 at 9:30pm with the Finals (TBD) to be held Sunday, November 10, at 7pm. On April 7th, the Orange County Regionals at Campus Jax in Newport Beach was filled with excitement as Teddy Lee Hooker walked away with the bragging rights and the Tagima guitar. Then, on May 26th, the talented musicians who were the entrants in the Los Angeles County Regionals at Joe's Great American were so incredibly hot that the Judges were sweating as they came to a decision to award the crown and the Tagima guitar to Johnny Agundez. At the San Diego County Regionals hosted by The Tin Roof on June 16th, heads were spinning as one killer guitar player after another was eliminated until Kirk Browne was awarded the Tagima guitar and the title. On June 30th, in the coolness of the Temblor Brewing Company on a hot Bakersfield day, the Kern County Regionals came to a blistering conclusion as Lenny "Fuzzy" Rankins emerged victoriously and walked away with our final Tagima guitar prize.
