The DeKalb County School Board has decided to table any discussion of the Fair Dismissal/Due Process waiver. I want to take this time to "THANK YOU" for calling and writing the board, and to say to you that when we work together collectively, we win! We need to thank them ( especially Dr. Joyce Morley and Marshall Orson) for this, while continuing to keep the pressure on the entire board. Let's write and/or call the Board members and thank them for not moving forward and asking them not to move on this at all. We know this will come back next month, let's be prepared to do this all over again. This would be a dangerous precedence. Again, this isn't the time, during a pandemic, to take anything away from the people who are doing the real work.
Again, thank you!
In Solidarity

We are very excited about the selection of California Senator Kamala Harris to join the campaign as Joe Biden's running mate. Senator Harris's nomination is truly historic and she is a true champion of public education.
Census 2020 is close to wrapping up. The census helps drive federal dollars to our schools. If you haven't done so already, please complete your Census and encourage your friends, family, neighbors, and students' families to complete the Census. It takes less than 10 minutes, but the difference it makes for DeKalb County is huge!
The 2020 Election will shape our country for years to come. If you aren't registered to vote, you can do so here. If you are registered, consider voting by mail by requesting an application and sending it in as soon as possible. Due to the slowing of the mail, if you decide to vote by mail, request and send in your ballot as soon as possible. It must be received by your county board of elections by 7:00PM on November 3. Late ballots will not be counted. Most counties have drop boxes as well once you have received and filled out your mail ballot. You can also vote early. Check with your local county board of elections for details, times, and locations.
