Drum Dance

Saturday, August 28th
10:00am - 4:00 pm

The work that we will focus on includes mowing and weed-eating the meadow, weeding the house gardens, sweeping out the breezeway, prepping the composting toilets, cleaning and straightening the Sound Chamber, prepping wood (moving and stacking), and making sure our supplies such as sage, tarps, sheets and towels are in order.

If you are a work exchange participant, this is the time to get that done.

Please bring comfortable, protective clothing and shoes, work gloves, sunscreen, bug repellant, a water bottle, and a dish to share for lunch. All ages are welcome and encouraged to join in this “work is worship” event!

Please let us know if you can make it so we can plan accordingly. We hope to see you there!

Joseph Rael, Beautiful Painted Arrow, describes the vision he was given of the Drum Dance:

“I was given a vision in which I saw a Drum Dance. Men and women dancers were moving rhythmically back and forth on an open field from inside a giant drum that was being played . . .
The drum was made from a hollow log with a skin on it. The people who were playing the drum said that when doing a Drum Dance, the dancers would bring forth greatness because the wood is greatness and is what the drum is made from. The dancers would dance the vibration of the sound, bouncing back (present) and forth (future) and returning to past memory, like the sound waves which were bouncing back and forth inside the hollow log of the drum being played. This would be a way by which all physical life would pick up the resonating vibration of sound by which to shift consciousness. This could create the necessary planetary changes because the planetary energies wanted to dance effortlessly between the present, future, and memory of harmony . . .

During the first day, the dancers release emotional hindrances to their personal growth . . .  By the second day, fatigue starts to set in. As the physical body surrenders, there is . . . a sense of exhilaration, of transcending limitations and beliefs about oneself. The dancers begin to receive glimpses of other parallel realities.

During the third day, a golden plate forms over the heads of the dancers and another plate appears directly below on the ground at the feet of the dancers. From time to time, the energy spirals from the lower plate to the upper plate, connecting the Earth energy with the Sky energy . . .”--from Being and Vibration by Joseph Rael, pp. 165 and 166

Joseph Rael, Beautiful Painted Arrow, introduced the Drum Dance to the Center for Peace in 1994 and this 3-day ceremony has been held each year since that time.

Monthly Fire Ceremony ~ September 7th

Fire Ceremony

 Tuesday, September 7th
6:45 pm

~ led by Katy Koontz

The purpose of the FIRE CEREMONY is to heal and purify both the planet’s physical oceans and the oceans of cosmic thought.

At 7 pm local time, fire elders light ceremonial fires at each of the Peace Sound Chambers around the world. Those present watch the fire in silence until it burns out, giving to it what we want to transmute in our lives and staying open to the messages and teachings it brings.

Come to the fire ceremony if you enjoy focused meditation, if you are looking for new ideas and insights, if you seek to release and transmute something that does not serve you, if you want to join in the service of healing the oceans (both physical and cosmic) or if you’re simply called to participate in a ceremony that honors this powerful elemental force.

We suggest you arrive by 6:45 pm.
All are welcome.
Donations are appreciated.

We are asking for sponsorship through monthly donations.

These donations do not need to be large but if those who love the Center for Peace could help by committing a few dollars on a monthly basis it could be the difference between always hoping that someday we will be able to build or provide those needed areas (i.e. showers, sleeping areas, restrooms) and actually making it happen.

If you have participated in any of the programs, offerings, and events that occur on an ongoing basis at the Center for Peace you have already felt the personal blessings from these activities. Our mission is to be a Spiritual Center for our community which extends to anyone open to this learning path.
