ADCI/DLI ONE ACT CIRCUIT 2021

We are reaching the end of the 2021 One Act Circuit this week  - now is the time for calculations and permutations to establish the eleven groups (Six Open Five Confined)  who will appear in glor 3 - 5 December www.glor.ie, as Ennis Players proudly host the One Act Finals. (Extra congratulations to all in Ennis on winning the 2021 Supervalu Tidy Towns Competition!!)
 
Six festivals to round off the competition - Belfast/Moira (19th & 20th) Coolgreany (17th, 18th, 19th, 20th ) Gorey (17th, 18th, 19th, 20th ) Manorhamilton (19th, 20th, 21st) Tubbercurry (18th, 19th, 20th) and West Cork (19th, 20th, 21st). 
 
 
So, first results in on Saturday night - keep an eye on Facebook and the ADCI website for the all-important league tables www.adci.ie. Nightly schedules on www.dli.ie 
 
 
  
OUTREACH WORKSHOPS 2021/2
 
The latest workshop in the ongoing DLI Outreach Programme, supported by the Arts Council, takes place in Presbyterian Church HallGreystones, Co Wicklow, 10am-4pm on 27 November (see flyer in What's On). Tutor and adjudicator Donal Courtney is Director of West End House School in Killarney, which has been established by Academy Award Nominee, Michael Fassbender. The workshop is for actors of all levels, and will focus on: Characterisation, Improvisation, Stagecraft, Use of Props and Text Work.

THE LIR CALLING

 
MFA Theatre Directing students at The Lir Academy, Dublin,  are seeking volunteer actors to participate in weekly informal scene presentations.

Participating involves attending rehearsals totalling 4-6 hours and presenting the scene to the MFA Directing instructor on a Monday evening.


Actors do not need to be available every week to participate, but can respond to each Actor Call-out as it suits them. The call will go out on Tuesday/Wednesday for the following week.  

Rehearsals will take place at The Lir Academy, typically on weekday evenings and weekend mornings/afternoons.
Actors will need to abide by Covid safety protocols issued to them from The Lir Academy.

Shrughawadda Players are ready to perform their new play in St Eoghan`s Centre, Kilmoganny, Co Kilkenny. The Banshee of Crokey Hill by Tommy Marren is set in rural Ireland early 1970s.
Set in the McMahon household, a house built on a fairy fort, black secrets and dark stories emerge as the son Mickey comes home from England after 13 years and the legend that the Banshee has put a spell on this house is proven true.
Great comedy and serious undertones all combine to make this a thrilling play!

 CHESS
 
Kilmacud Musical Society (KMS) are delighted to announce their production of Chess – The Musical which runs 30th Nov – 4th Dec 2021 in dlr Mill Theatre, Dundrum.
 
KMS were initially due to stage Chess in March of 2020. As they were preparing for their dress rehearsal, all events were cancelled. They are delighted to be able to bring this amazing production to stage 627 days after they initially planned.
