Hey all.

Last week was lots of fun.  Thanks to all who came out last week for our Yom H celebration.  And thanks so much to those who brought goodies.  Such a nice time.

Thanks to Dina for teaching the last couple of weeks.  😀  And great to welcome Sarah back and dancing.  Kol Hakavod!  Now we need Sara and Donald to rejoin our circle as soon as possible!

So here is a cute (I think) tidbit for you all.  This coming Thursday, Tamar will be teaching a circle dance called Yeled Aba Ve'ima.  It is a joint choreography from Dudu Barzilay and Smadar Asor.  Smadar just happens to be a good bud of Ziva's.  So we are doing this dance in honor of their friendship (and also because it is a nice dance). 😊❤️😊

We'll continue to do our best to dance safely, now with boosters, masks, still required.  Masks are still required by Beth Emet

(See below for instructions on how to get your booster information to me, by Wednesday please.)

Jordan Suchow's Research Project:  Our friend Eva is asking for people to help participate in her son's research project.  Very interesting (though not related to dance).  See the article and zoom link near the very end of this newsletter.  Thanks Eva for the info!

Covid Update
TESTING, BOOSTERS, MASKS
Hi Everyone,
This email is primarily for those who are not in our Chicago Israeli Dancing WhatsApp group because I have posted most of this info there.

Of course, our primary objective is to keep us all safe and keep us able to continue dancing together.  Toward that end:

  • If you have tested positive or have had Covid symptoms, please don't attend CID until you have tested negative at least 5 days after symptoms have subsided.
  • If you have been exposed to someone who tested positive, please do not attend until you have tested negative at least 5 days after being exposed
  • Follow the latest CDC Guidelines CDC
  • Starting 1/13/22 proof of boosters are required for attending CID, for all those who are eligible to receive the booster.  (IF YOU ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR THE BOOSTER, PLEASE LET ME KNOW.)  As always, either send a pic to Phil's WhatsApp (+1 312 519 8669) or email (philip_b_moss@hotmail.com)
  • Until further notice, masks continue to be required
Thanks for keeping us all safe and dancing.

Hi everyone,

We recently had a paper come out in PNAS (https://www.pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pnas.2115228119) where we study people's biased first impressions of each other's faces using a dataset of 1 million judgments. Now we're collecting the second round, aiming for 10 million judgments across a bigger range of faces and attributes.

You can help us reach our goal of 10 million judgments by participating in the study, looking at faces and rating them along one of many attributes.

To participate, go to the "Contribute" section at the following link: https://onemillionimpressions.com/.

Feel free to share the link with anyone else you think may be interested in taking part!

Thanks,
Jordan
