Blues News You Can Use!
It's Beginning to Look...
It's feeling a bit strange to me to be off
to Florida this late in the year. Our
annual trip to visit my sister had to be rescheduled this year to accommodate my recovery from surgery. So here I am, with Christmas less than a month away, and I am embracing the "It's beginning
to look a lot like Christmas" idea. Decorations greet us pretty much everywhere we go yet, Christmas or not, probably my favorite colorful display
is the daily sunset. Anyone care to
agree with me?
As you still looking for holiday events to attend? The FAYETTEVILLE FLYER is a great place to start! It is one of the community calendars that we use to build our newsletter calendar section. We select primarily blues events, but beyond that
it is chock full of many types of activities this time of year that sound really neat. So check it out when you are looking
for fun things to do!

In the news this week, we have a winner of the tickets for the Million Dollar Quartet show at the Walton Arts Center. Tickets are still available for this show so why
not grab some and join our winner,
Cindy Whitehorn, at this cool holiday event. Read on below for more information and the link for tickets.
It seems a bit in the future now, but ticket sales for our annual IBC Fundraiser have kicked off. Remember, reserved table seating is limited. Don't miss your chance to grab one. Read on below for all the information and the ticket link.

And last but not least, we appreciate the support offered to Ozark Blues Society through AmazonSmile. As you do your holiday shopping please consider signing up. Information can be found below
if you aren't sure how to set it up.

Congratulations
Million Dollar Quartet
Ticket Winner!!
We so appreciate the Walton Arts Center partnering with us and giving us the opportunity to offer our readers another opportunity to win tickets to enjoy a special show this holiday season! Our winner in the drawing for the tickets for the Million Dollar Quartet is Cindy Whitehorn. Congratulations Cindy, enjoy the show! Didn't win? Tickets are still available!  You can select your tickets at WaltonArtsCenter.org/tickets
The Walton Arts Center shared the following about the show:
"Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis,
Carl Perkins and Elvis Presley come together again to celebrate the most wonderful time of the year.
Sun Records, now donned with a Christmas tree, garland, and mistletoe, rings with the sounds of the season and the chart toppers that made these four famous.
Follow along the gang’s usual antics as we journey through a story of Christmas past, present and future. It's a jam-packed evening of holidays hits and classic characters you
won't want to miss! Check out a teaser here: https://youtu.be/vdeRDQIQ0OM

IBC Fundraiser
Bound For Beale

Ozark Blues Society is proud that we have been able to offer above average sponsorships to the acts  representing Northwest Arkansas
at the International Blues Challenge each year. It may sound repetitive, but it's true, we can't do it without your help! Please mark your calendar and plan to come out and support our fundraising efforts while cheering on our IBC bound act, the Downtown Livewires. The fundraiser will also feature our 2022 Best
Self-produced CD winner, Buddy Shute and the Motivators,
as well as our 2021 Challenge winner, the Jeff Horton Band.
The date is set for Saturday, January 14, 2023 at the Meteor Guitar Gallery in Bentonville
and will begin at 7pm.
If you want to grab one of the limited, reserved table seats, consider jumping in soon while choice seats are still available.
Tickets for this fundraiser are $35 for reserved table seating, and $25 for general admission. To grab your spot, click the link HERE:

And don't forget, the 2023 International Blues Challenge is being held in Memphis January 24-28th. If you have never been to the IBC, perhaps this is your year to go and root for The Downtown Livewires as they represent Northwest Arkansas.
