The Asheville Truffle Experience will kick off at 5:00 pm on Friday February 10, with a welcome tasting at Bouchon's private upstairs lounge on S. Lexington Avenue. This will be followed by a showing of The Truffle Hunters, at Warner Studios, just a short walk down from Bouchon, at 190 Broadway, Suite 202.
Saturday morning, February 12 will begin with a culinary demo and hands-on cooking session, with Susi Gott Séguret, followed by a tasting luncheon, at The Timbers Clubhouse, Timber Loop, off Beaverdam Rd.
Saturday afternoon will continue with a Truffle Panel Seminar, featuring Dr. Tom Michaels, Susi Gott Séguret, and others (soon to be announced), at Warner Studios, 190 Broadway, Suite 202.
On Saturday evening, Chef Michel Baudouin will provide guests with a selection of provocative dishes, paired with wines, at RendezVous, 184 New Haw Creek Rd, Asheville.
On Sunday, February 13, we will head out to the truffle orchard at the Mountain Research Station in Waynesville, overseen by Dr. Jeanine Davis. There, we will witness a Lagotto romagnolo in action, observe the brulée that has formed around host trees, and—with luck—unearth a few fresh specimens of Tuber melanosporum.
