CURRENT EVENTS
As you know, we've seen some recurrence of Covid infections lately. Even in our group. As a PSA, I wanted to mention that I just got another booster. The CDC recommends that now for the 65+ and the immuno-compromised crowd. Just sayin...
Thanks to Esther and Moshe and their work with American Friends of Israel War Disabled Foundation AFIWDF. It was so much fun to welcome this year's cohort from Israel this week. Thanks to all those who came early to dance with the folks. Kol Hakavod to Esther and Moshe for this amazing mitzva and labor of love that you do. And also Kol Hakavod to all of you who hosted these folks!

The good news - Eran Bitton and his wife are expecting their third child! Besha'a Tova!! The bad news - the birth is expected very close to Machol Merkaz 2023. There is no way Eran will be able to join us this year. 😢 The good news - Tamir Scherzer, one of Israel's very best markidim/yotzrim has joined the Machol Merkaz 2023 team!!! 😀 We are so excited 🥳👏 Look for registration to the general public to open tomorrow!

THE PLAN: CID LIVE/VIRTUAL As you know, Thursday night CID Live and in person is back at Congregation Beth Emet. We restarted ON JUNE 24TH, 2021!!! And we zoomed too! Join us on Thursday June 15 at Congregation Beth Emet. We will hope to zoom also as usual.
Please join us at 7:30. This week Penny will "kick off." Penny will focus on beginners (if we have them) and repertoire dances.

Zoom - We plan to continue to broadcast on zoom as long as people want to join and support us. From time to time we will have guest leaders do some short sets sprinkled in. We are also able to have remote people show up on the big screen in our room! We hope to maintain the wonderful connections we have made over the past years to the extent we can. This is a work in progress. We'll see where it goes. For now expect mostly a broadcast with some interactivity too if we can.

MISCELLANEOUS TIDBITS
REFU'A SHLEIMA:
Keeping our friend, Larry D, on the refu'a shleima list, and happy to report he is making some progress. Wishing you the easiest and fastest of recoveries. I also want to continue to send best wishes for a speedy and full refu'a shleima to Mindy F! Mindy says she'll come visit sometime. I am very sorry to have to keep Rivka on the list. She is now recovering in a nursing home and would appreciate visitors. Look in the Chicago Israeli Dancing WhatsApp group for contact details (thanks Vered).
Harriette is still on the list, but it was great to have her with us recently. Sadly, Susan Frankel will remain on the list for awhile yet. And also sadly, Dina stays on the list but is clearly making progress! Romi continues to make progress and hopes to be back on the dance floor soon! I look forward to more people coming off the list.

At that point please identify yourself as a dancer and you will be admitted to the building. Please go straight ahead and then down the stairs to the Weiner Room, our dance space (and adjacent to the washrooms we use.) PLEASE DO NOT AT ANY TIME GO TO ANY OTHER PART OF THE BUILDING.

Again, thanks again to all those from all over who joined us on Zoom. Many people logged in yet again! It was so great to see you, display you on the big screen and interact with you. I truly hope that those of you who cannot dance with us physically in Chicago will continue to be with us in the zoom. We'll try to keep it going as long as you all do!

Hey fellow dance organizers, if you would like me to publicize your Israeli dance events on my website, it would be my pleasure. Send me a jpg and the details. Milwaukee, St. Louis, Indianapolis, etc? Go for it!
As an example, in the adverts section too, this just from the Twin Cities:
Israeli dance Zoom session with Shira Schwartz, from the Twin Cities, Minnesota. We dance on Sundays from 6:30 - 8:45 Central. All are welcome! Shira will teach/review one or two dances for the first half hour. Then, from about 6:30 to about 8:00 we do circle dances. For the rest of the evening we switch to partner dances. We also plan on a monthly Special Partner Dance workshop on a Saturday from 5:30 - 7:30, with dates to be announced.

Of course, our primary objective is to keep us all safe and keep us able to continue dancing together. Toward that end:
- If you have tested positive or have had Covid symptoms, please don't attend CID until you have tested negative at least 5 days after symptoms have subsided.
- If you have been exposed to someone who tested positive, please do not attend until you have tested negative at least 5 days after being exposed
- Follow the latest CDC Guidelines CDC
- Starting 1/13/22 proof of boosters are required for attending CID, for all those who are eligible to receive the booster. (IF YOU ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR THE BOOSTER, PLEASE LET ME KNOW.) As always, either send a pic to Phil's WhatsApp (+1 312 519 8669) or email (philip_b_moss@hotmail.com)
