Performer bios:
Corazon Tierra is an interdisciplinary dance artist, poet, dance educator, and somatic movement educator. She has spent the past two decades creating experiences that blur the boundaries between art and life, and between personal transformation and community healing. Tierra’s dances follow the organic movements and natural rhythms of the living body, challenging beauty perceptions and revealing the connection of the female body with the natural world. She offers her meditative dances to the community as an invitation to be present in the body, in the here and now, free of shame and judgment. Tierra is the creator of DanzaSpa (somatic dance practice), of DanzaYo Community Dance Practice, and of BelovedBodySoul (positive body esteem through dance and somatics).
Josh Popenoe has been writing and singing original songs since he was a kid. He grew up in the US, Malaysia and England, and moved to Japan as a young adult for 16 years, before settling in NYC. His songs reflect a lifetime of musical influences, from the humor and lyricism of the Great American Songbook to 60s Pop, classic love songs and crazy jazzy scat. www.popenoestudio.com
Heather
Woodbury is a writer-performer best known for stage serials that combine the immediacy of solo performance with the scope of a novel. Critically praised in the NY Times, Chicago Sun-Times and featured on Ira Glass’s TAL, her works take the pulse of people’s lives in the crosshairs of history. In 2022, her activist travelogue, “Whistle.Stop.Swing.” chronicled a cross-country train-trip, volunteering for key campaigns in five swing states.

Norman Salant, a Salon regular, is a NYC songwriter/
singer and former saxophonist whose songs reflect the most moving elements of life: melodious and intricate, with lyrical wordplay, large themes, poetic imagery, and abstract impressions; above all honest, unpretentious and somehow modern. His saxophone/compositional career was illustrious; his singer/songwriter career has been largely hidden from the wider world. https://www.normansalant.com
Mary Abrams dances, writes, draws, dreams, and runs a business inside-out, outside-in, all around, and through life. Her 36-year tour living in NYC includes choreography and performance at Danspace Project at St. Mark’s Church, Dia Center for the Arts, Dixon Place, Ethnic Folk Arts, Movement Research at Judson Church, other venues she can’t remember, streets around Wall Street, the waterfronts, and most currently Salons at MBR. Starting out with tap, jazz, & ballet in Mason City, IA, Mary holds a BA in Dance from St. Olaf College and for 30 years has been immersing herself in the fluid breath/sound movement inquiry of Continuum and other somatic movement practices.
