Last night's jam (3/14) celebrated a full year of twice-monthly jams! Ozark Blues Society thanks all of the hundreds of musicians who have come to play and chum around this past year. And very special thanks to all the people who have come out to listen and boogie, and have signed up for membership! Let's keep on Keepin' the Blues Alive!

Got Nominations?
The Board of Directors will have its Annual Election of Officers at the end of April, at the Music Depot on our last Thursday jam of the month. This year we are accepting nominations from our Members up until April 1st, for President, Treasurer, and regular board members.  Through the years, we have always enjoyed bringing on people with particular skills and experience on our mission to Keep The Blues Alive in NWA! If you're a member of OBS, you can submit your nomination(s) for board and officer positions, up until  the DEADLINE of April 1st. Nominees will be announced one week prior to voting.

The Pinetop Perkins Foundation Workshop Is Now Taking Applicants
Ozark Blues Society is pleased to share application information to musicians of all ages, young and old, to attend the Pinetop Perkins Foundation Workshop! The 4-day workshops are led by Grammy-winning Blues Artists for drums, guitar, bass, keys, and vocals. Scholarships are available.  The workshops fill up fast, so don't hesitate to sign up as soon as you can, at the link below.  The sessions are held at the Hopson Commissary and Shack Up Inn in Clarksdale, Mississippi, and lodging is available on site. It's a party!
 
The sessions end on Saturday night with a performance at Ground Zero in Clarksdale, MS, with all students jamming with their instructors throughout the night.

Songwriting Contest Now Open for Entries
 
Ozark Blues Society takes pride in finding out about events, challenges, and contests that can benefit our musician community. Here's one that several of our NWA and regional musicians have done well in -- placing in semi-finals and finals. Since 1995, the USA Songwriting Competition®, the world's leading international songwriting event, has been honoring songwriters, composers, bands, and recording artists everywhere. This is open to all, regardless of nationality or country origin. It's one of the best ways to get your songs heard by industry professionals. Enter at the link above!
