C.Merenda Flachs-Surmanek
Aurelie, C. Meranda, Marian, and Steven are friends. They are also theatrical improvisers, poets, activists, and social therapeutic practitioners (allegedly). They are definitely clowns. Together, they have more than 100 years of experience in being weird, are experts on silliness, and have made a business of protesting and creating loving environments for raucous reflection. And business is booming!

Influenced by grandmothers maternal (Rosario) and paternal (Rosario), author Rose Sabangan has danced along the breezy island edges of the Philippines, North Borneo and New York City. In community, Rose shares threads of (her)stories—prose, poetry, play scenes—that bridge meaning across her culturally lived experiences as an American immigrant spiritually nurtured and influenced by her Filipino ancestral teachings.  Rose resides on Munsee Lenape land, also known as New York City.  www.rosariorosario.net  and www.writingonwater.net

Norman Salant
an ongoing Salon supporter, is a singer/songwriter currently living in New York City. In olden days he was a well regarded new music saxophonist, composer, and recording artist who also performed cameos with The Residents and Romeo Void. As a songwriter he has no fine arts degrees, has won no awards, never toured or performed at any major festivals, and hardly anyone even knows who he is anymore, but he’s released two critically acclaimed albums and is enjoying life as a songwriter who plays around town and tries to infuse life with beauty and meaning and hope through the power of music and song.
