The blues is the foundation, and it's got to carry the top. The other part of the scene, the rock 'n' roll and the jazz, are the walls of the blues." ~ Luther Allison

Report from the Pinetop Boogie Trip
|
Current and past OBS presidents Diane Rudolph and Liz Lottmann traveled to Clarksdale, MS last weekend to run the stage for the Pinetop Perkins Foundation annual Boogie at Ground Zero. It was, as always, an intensely fun and star-packed event. They were both quite busy, but managed to get some photos and videos of these Grammy and BMA winners who donate their performances to help raise funds. A special surprise that evening was when Christone "Kingfish" Ingram showed up, and played with the "Pinetoppers" -- some of the young musicians who have attended the summer workshops.
To top it all off, Diane and Liz had the honor of performing with the Delta Divas, along with LaLa Craig, Thornetta Davis, Heather Crosse, Josh Parks, and Six String Andrew Sullivan. Videos and pics of many performances are here:
