About Rochelle Bradshaw Rochelle Bradshaw’s story begins in Portland, Jamaica, in a home where music wasn’t just entertainment; it was the pulse of daily life. Her father, Anthony Bradshaw, and her uncle, Devon Bradshaw, both played with the legendary reggae band Burning Spear, and their influence surrounded her from the very beginning. Music was not a career to be chased.
It was simply part of the world she was born into.
As a child, Rochelle spent countless hours in her uncle Devon’s modest studio in Norwich, quietly absorbing the rhythms, harmonies, and unspoken lessons passed between musicians. She learned that music is as much about listening as it is about performing, and that the soul of a song lies in its truth. Her earliest roles were not in the spotlight but in harmony, blending her voice to support others and helping their stories find wings.
Over the years, her quiet dedication led her far beyond what she had imagined. She was invited to tour and record with artists she had admired since childhood, including The Original Wailers, Burning Spear, Chaka Demus & Pliers, Luciano, Damian Marley, and Stephen Marley. These moments were never about fame for Rochelle. They were about learning, honoring the craft, and carrying forward the spirit of the music she grew up with.
Now rooted in Fayetteville, Arkansas, Rochelle brings her heritage with her, weaving the soul of Jamaica into every performance. With her band Hypnotion, she creates spaces where audiences feel connected, where songs of unity, self-love, and resilience are offered in both English and Jamaican patois. Her shows are less about performance and more about communion, a shared reminder of the strength found in community.
Her creativity extends beyond music into her work as a cannabis entrepreneur and brand ambassador for The Source Dispensary in Arkansas, where she has developed her own line of products, including Island Time, Hi Tide, and Lo Tide gummies, as well as Island Time vape carts. Just like her music, these ventures reflect her commitment to authentic, mindful living.
Her debut album, ISLAND GIRL, created in collaboration with her sister Tamara Bradshaw (UniVerss) and her uncle Devon Bradshaw, is the culmination of years of growth, listening, and love. It is an offering, an invitation for listeners to slow down, be present, and step into a world where heritage, heart, and humanity meet.
Written alongside sister Tamara Bradshaw and produced by uncle Devon Bradshaw, ISLAND GIRL is more than an album — it's a sonic memoir of transformation, ancestral connection, and radical self-love. This family collaboration speaks to both the musical legacy within the Bradshaw lineage and reggae's deeper tradition of community.
Recorded between Portland, Jamaica (Axx Recording Studio) and Fayetteville, Arkansas (Crisp Recording Studio), this dual-country process honors reggae's Caribbean roots while embracing contemporary innovation.
The empowering opener "It's What's Inside" immediately establishes the collection's introspective mission with its potent message about looking beyond surface appearances. The anthemic "Warriors" follows as a manifesto of purpose, its declaration "Warriors never die" setting the tone for an album that explores vulnerability as strength.
On the title track "Island Girl" Bradshaw delivers conscious, unforgettable vocals that capture the album's geographical and philosophical heart.
Celebrating the Caribbean concept of embracing life's natural rhythms, the song weaves evocative imagery of "salted air and "bare skin on soft sand" with the mantra "Deh pon island time / Feel the vibe, it's so nice.
"Standout moments like "Ancestors Light" and "Crucial High" celebrate cultural legacy while pushing genre boundaries, always returning to reggae as the foundational root.
ISLAND GIRL succeeds as both a deeply personal statement and a universal invitation
to embrace transformation, honor heritage, and find strength in love, community,
and consciousness.
The album rewards both casual listening and deep contemplation, offering layers of meaning that maintain the connective power that has made Bradshaw's live performances so beloved. "This project is my truth," says Bradshaw. "It's a journey through reflection, love, and liberation — all on island time."
ISLAND GIRL is available now on all major streaming platforms.
