Bound For Beale Performers

BATTERTON & EDWARDS
OBS BLUES CHALLENGE DUO WINNER
For nearly two decades, Batterton and Edwards have crafted a unique sound that marries the raw authenticity of Ozark mountain music with the soulful depth of Delta blues. Their music emerges from the natural confluence of Arkansas traditions — where banjo meets slide guitar, where mountain hollers blend with field songs, where front porch picking sessions flow into juke joint rhythms. Multi-instrumentalists and seasoned vocalists, they transform traditional country blues through their deep understanding of both high country and lowland sounds. Every performance carries the dust of Delta crossroads and the mist of mountain mornings.

R.D. OLSON BAND
OBS BLUES CHALLENGE BAND WINNER
The R.D. Olson Blues Band delivers a powerful, soul-infused blues experience, rooted in the classic traditions of the genre. Their journey in the blues world has taken them through the Northwest Arkansas (NWA) scene and onto the national stage. A testament to their talent, the band was recently selected to compete at the prestigious International Blues Challenge on Beale Street in Memphis, scheduled for January 13th – 17th, 2026. In addition to their success in the Challenge, the R.D. Olson Blues Band earned a free recording package courtesy of Crisp Studios in Fayetteville, AR.
Their musical catalog spans heartfelt originals and classic tributes, with notable video performances including "The Rd Olson Blues Band - Sick and Tired" and "40 Days- The Ronnie Hawkins Tribute Show," which was their most viewed video in 2024. The band, whose YouTube channel was established in 2015, continues to connect with audiences through their powerful live performances, including a rendition of the song "Mama" that was described as "better than the recording".

With a wide range of influences from blues to country,  jazz and soul, Charlotte sings everything with a lot of soul.

This week's featured reel:
 PAUL BUTTERFIELD BLUES BAND

HERE'S THE VIDEO:

[From Wikipedia:] The Paul Butterfield Blues Band was an American blues and blues-rock band from Chicago. Formed in the summer of 1963, the group originally featured eponymous vocalist and harmonicist Paul Butterfield, guitarist Elvin Bishop, bassist Jerome Arnold, and drummer Sam Lay.[1] The band added guitarist Mike Bloomfield and keyboardist Mark Naftalin before recording their self-titled debut album, which was released in October 1965. The founding sextet were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2015, along with Billy Davenport, their drummer on their second album, East-West. --
