Eugene Pursoo wrote the play he is presenting to pay homage to his, and many other people’s slave ancestors, for all they have endured in shaping this world. His objective is a call for greater justice. As Professor Pursoo, he is a Distinguished Lecturer at Medgar Evers College of City University of New York, currently serving as Program Manager of the Caribbean Research Center. He joined the faculty after serving with distinction as the United Nations Ambassador and Permanent Representative for Grenada (1991-1995). At the United Nations he was Vice President of the General Assembly (1993), Chairman of the United Nations Decolonization Committee, and Chairman of the Organization of SmalIlsland States (1994). Eugene is widely respected for his commitment to the mentoring of students and scholars who seek to advance diplomatic approaches for the expansion of peace and justice throughout the World Community.

Denise McLain, actress, plays the role of elegant former slave,
Emma Hill, taking her audience onto the plantation to share her painful experience as a slave woman.
Lisa Davidson & Elizabeth Cornell are Odd Shaped Swimmers, a NYC-based singer-songwriter duo who play acoustic guitar, bass & ukulele, and sing about relationships, city living, and past lives. Their album, Bird Watcher, Popcorn Maker, features six original songs, and they have just finished recording a new single, "Bad Boyfriend." You can hear their alt-folk, indie-style music on https://linktr.ee/oddshapedswimmers and follow us on https://www.instagram.com/oddshapedswimmers/.
Leslie C. Nemet is an Actress, Director, Casting Director, Writer, Coach and Hair/Make-Up Artist. She has performed in Broadway workshops, Off-Broadway, television, film, radio and webisodes; including performing 15 roles in the Off-Broadway show "Olympics Uber Alles". She also originated and performed the role of Brenda Buttafucco for over 2 years in "Housewives of Secaucus" at 54 Below and other NY venues. Her film and TV work include playing George Clooney's Hairstylist in "Money Monster" and the Pizzeria Woman on "Sesame Street". Leslie is thrilled to be back at the Moving Body Salon and with this wonderful community!

Norman Salant a sustaining Salon supporter & performer, is a songwriter currently living in NYC. In olden days he was a well-regarded new music saxophonist, composer, and recording artist who also performed cameos with The Residents and Romeo Void. As a songwriter he has no fine arts degrees, has won no awards, never toured or performed at any major festivals, and hardly anyone even knows who he is anymore, but he has put out two critically acclaimed albums with a third one just been released (it's called Ten Songs No Filler). Norman is enjoying life as someone who plays around town and tries to infuse life with beauty and meaning and hope through the power of music and song. www.normansalant.com
Mary Abrams dances, writes, draws, dreams, and runs a business inside-out, outside-in, all around, and through life. Her 38-year tour living in NYC includes choreography and performance at Danspace Project at St. Mark’s Church, Dia Center for the Arts, Dixon Place, Ethnic Folk Arts, Movement Research at Judson Church, other venues she can’t remember, streets and waterfronts around Wall Street, and most currently Moving Body Salons. Starting out with tap, jazz, & ballet in Mason City, IA, Mary holds a BA in Dance from St. Olaf College, and for 30 years has been immersing herself in the fluid breath/sound movement of Continuum among other somatic movement practices. www.maryabrams.com
