KOKOMO ARNOLD
(February 15, 1896 or 1901 – November 8, 1968)
He was a major influence on Robert Johnson. His early recording in 1937 of "Old Kokomo Blues", linked below, is the first known use of that iconic Blues phrase "1 and 1 are 2, 2 and 2 are 4", etc.
Robert Johnson soon after recorded his version called
"Sweet Home Chicago".
