|
The "Sinners" soundtrack is a Blues lover's heaven. And the GRAMMY soundtrack performance featured legends such as Buddy Guy and Bobby Rush, along with relative newcomers Miles Caton, Eric Gales, and Christone "Kingfish" Ingram.
Here's a video about background decisions on the actors, music and
how they chose to film the scenes.

The Pinetop Perkins Foundation Seventeenth Annual Workshop Experience 2026 June 16, 2026 - June 19, 2026
Masterclasses in Piano, Acoustic Guitar, Electric Guitar, Harmonica, Bass and Drums at the Hopson Plantation and Shack Up Inn - Clarksdale, MS
For piano, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass, drums and harmonica, professional Blues musicians will present the music and techniques for playing it. Sorry, no beginning students allowed. Everyone needs to already have a basic knowledge of their instrument. We won't be starting from scratch. Any musician who has been playing seriously for a year or so should be able to make a lot of progress in his or her Blues playing. We require at least two years experience for piano workshop participants and advanced level experience for acoustic guitar.
Workshops are open to the young and young at heart - adults welcome! Scholarships are available for youth ages 12 to 21.
UPDATE: The Drum, Bass and Electric Guitar Classes are FULL. You can apply for the WAITLIST or consider the Harmonica, Acoustic Guitar or Piano classes. |

This week's featured artist:
SON HOUSE
(with Buddy Guy on same show)
Edward James " Son" House Jr. (March 21, 1902 [a] – October 19, 1988) was an American Delta blues singer and guitarist, noted for his highly emotional style of singing and slide guitar playing. After years of hostility to secular music while working as a preacher, he turned to blues performance at the age of 25. He quickly developed a unique style by applying the rhythmic drive, powerful delivery, and emotional intensity of his preaching to the newly learned idiom. In a short career interrupted by a spell in Parchman Farm penitentiary, he developed his musicianship to the point that Charley Patton, the foremost blues artist of the Mississippi Delta region, invited him to share engagements and to accompany him to a 1930 recording session for Paramount Records.
