So What! I'll Do it Anyway
................... I Want to Be Passionate When I Grow Up May 11, 2010

A word can transport you.

One juicy word that elicits creative thought like "begonia" or "smithereens" or "effervescent... or "majesty" or dancing the majesty of the effervescent night-blooming begonias or quit trying to keep up with the smithereens!

Just a combination of words can remove you from the gray desperate despair that sometimes seeps in ... because life is not always sunshine.

Life, when we collect years, is sometimes loss and tears and I-don't-think-I-can-last-one-more-day in this torment, with this guilt, regret, with this loss, this fear, this pain, this depression, anxiety, with my failure of who I thought I was supposed to be.

But you do.

You do last.

And you begin to notice that letting go of who you were supposed to be is delicious and liberating and you discover the grace and beauty of what has always been there without even needing to change it.

You discover that you have come a long way baby because you are flexible and sturdy and your beauty is now defined the real way… by the strength and radiance of your spirit. By how you create your inner self.

With this creativity, you discover that inside of every trouble there are not one but 600 solutions, perspectives, colors, rhythms and connections to the brilliance of life.. not just the darkness,

and the Goddess of Knowing turns the lens toward that amazing part of you- the funny way you think about the world, the personality that you have cultivated because of what you endured, the strength you underestimated.

And the confidence lying dormant begins to grow like beautiful flowers around the rocks BECAUSE, not in spite, of your years. And you are introduced to the dimension of yourself you kept  hidden or the one you didn't even know about ...

Here I am.. you say,

Emerging like night blooming begonias… be gone, yes! Be gone myths about aging… break the rules.. return to the majesty of you and the effervescence of your creative self and with your smile, blow to smithereens any doubt or fear or detractor from the power you have when you are your creative self.

Your inertia will turn to vitality, your decline will no longer be a decline.. you will be reintroduced to the beauty of life and the well-spring of your mind to deliver the beauty of thought. And it can start with a word. Trust.

Dear Creative Friend,

More than almost anything, engaging in the creative process can make the second half of life even better than the first - at the very least filled with soul validation and that's not anything to sneeze about. Whether it's writing, art, or simply living more authentically as you - creativity is how you find those dreams you've been looking for.

The other thing that can play a part in the quality of your life - is your believing circles. Are you currently enjoying the support of a close group of kindred spirits that "get" you and reflect back your radiance to you? Or are you in a competitive group of people with whom you feel judged and uncomfortable? Do you work for yourself and crave the energy of like-minded individuals? If you don't feel safe or authentic or inspired by the people you hang-out with, now is the time to find a different group. Or start one.

Wiggly Spearmint Glum Fun Fact:
Being in a support network can remove over 90 percent of the aging penalty we face after a major life event can accelerates our age. Research shows that one of the most vital elements in reducing the negative health effects of stress is to have strong social networks. They're mental medicine. In periods of major stress, they can be the anchor we need when we're rocking in stormy shore.

What if you combined the bliss of the creative process with the playful, gathering of like-minded spirits? I'm here to inspire you to do just that with Modern Day Muse Groups for fun or profit or both.

Create a group where you can be your authentic self AND celebrate the deepening of your creative process and the creative process of those in your group. Make it a weekly, bi-weekly or monthly celebration. But now is the time to create the kind of support that will exalt your existence.

This training will also be available on-line and through teleconferences beginning this fall.

Oh, and by the way...

Passion is vigor for life. The more you have, the more you get. None of us can afford to let life get boring. That starts a downward spiral of passionless living: no interest, no energy, no youthfulness.

We are able to protect our brainpower by using it creatively.
~Victoria Moran, Younger by the Day

The creative is the place where no one else has ever been. You have to leave the city of your comfort and go into the wilderness of your intuition. What you’ll discover will be wonderful. What you’ll discover is yourself. ~ Alan Alda

The most potent muse of all is our own inner child.
