TABLE  OF  CONTENTS
Greetings from your Editor...
 Workingman's Holiday...

Labor Day, also called the "workingman's holiday," is the first Monday in September and is dedicated to honor the American worker. Viewed as the official end of summer, Labor Day weekend is also a cause for celebration... an excuse for that one last picnic or outdoor throwdown. It's also a weekend chock-full of Blues Festivals. Several of those festivals are sponsored by industrious blues societies. Thanks to all the "working" volunteers that make this magic happen!

Have a spectacular, bluesy weekend. Let's make the best of it before we have to return to our regular routine!

Birthdays of note: Aug 29 Dinah Washington (1924), Aug 31 Joanna Conner (1962) and Van Morrison (1945), Sept 3 Memphis Slim (1915), Freddie King (1934) and Terrance Simien (1965), Sept 4 Meade "Lux" Lewis (1905), Sept 5 Sunnyland Slim (1907).

Talk to ya next week! Your ever-grateful editor,

If you missed your latest (or any) copy of the Weekly e-Guide, you can find back issues in the Archives here on our website.

CD & DVD Releases
Hank Mowery :: ACCOUNT TO ME
Old Pal Records announced the release of Account to Me, the new CD from singer/harmonica player Hank Mowery featuring five songs written by the late singer/harmonica player Gary Primich, including two previously-unrecorded tunes.

“We don’t consider this a ‘tribute’ CD, but more of a collaboration with the Primich family,” says Hank Mowery about the new album, which also features Gary’s former bassist Patrick Recob, and detailed liner notes about the songs as well as Primich’s importance to blues by Severn Records singer/harmonica player Tad Robinson, a long-time friend.  Read more about it here
