Blues & BBQ Festival Adds Friday Concert

BEDFORD, TX – A Fri., Aug. 30 concert by Escape, DFW’s Journey tribute band, has been added to the Bedford Blues & BBQ Festival. The group will take the festival stage at 6 p.m. with a set full of favorites from the arena rock artists.
General admission tickets are $5 and reserved seating is $10 for the Fri. show.
The concert will be at the outdoor Festival venue across from the Bedford City Hall Complex, 2000 Forest Ridge Dr.
 
            The Journey tribute concert caps off a crowded field of Festival talent that features legendary bluesmen, John Mayall, Jimmie Vaughan and Buddy Guy. It’s the first time three headliners have been featured performers at the Labor Day Weekend event.

Hot music isn’t the only thing smoking during the festival. Some 70 BBQ teams from around the world will compete for prize money in a cook-off sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbecue Society. Entry forms, tickets and complete details are available online: www.bedfordbluesbbq.com.
 
Gates open at 2 p.m. Aug. 31 and Sept. 1 with a steady stream of talent playing on two stages at the outdoor venue across from the Bedford City Hall Complex, 2000 Forest Ridge Dr.
 
The venue features plenty of trees and guests who want even more shade have the option of enjoying the festival in a private Party Cabana or the Party Tent. Individual tickets and Festival packages are available online at www.bedfordbluesbbq.com. Daily general admission lawn seating is still only $5.00.
