Knak Dem Out Productions & N'tyce U Entertainment Present Khago
Saturday March 29th
|
International Reggae Artist KHAGO live in concert at DI REGGAE STOP inside club Island Paradise 1436 Webster Alameda,Ca 94501
Khago since axing ties with Downsound Records, controversial reggae-dancehall firebrand Khago has been stepping up his game, and amping up his marketing and promotion. He did a pair of shows over the weekend, first headlining a show at the Caribbean Grill in Dallas, and then headed to Club Riddim for another show the following day in Houston, Texas. The Caribbean Grill venue was sold out over the weekend. The Dallas show sell off. Ah mi first sold-out show that, no space no inna the venue, nobody else caan come in, people outside, is a good feeling, the people dem love the Nah Sell Out, the girls dem melt fi the Love Stomach, and the thugs dem love the Road Dawg," he said.
Khago said the other show in Houston did not fare as well. He was billed alongside a rapper called Zero, but the turnout wasn't quite as spectacular. "Mi give thanks same way because the promoter lost contact with the rapper before the event and wasn't sure he was still even coming but the show was really good and mi mek some valuable links," he said. Khago is now turning attention towards promoting his Road Dawg single. Over the past two weeks, he has done dubs and jingles for an number of US-based disc jockeys who say that the single is doing well in the ethnic markets stateside.
The deejay recently recorded a new single called Do Me on the Idole rhythm for the Chase Mills Records-Pusha Yute Music imprint. "Right now, mi a crush road hard with the Road Dawg, it tek Waterhouse by storm the other day. The song have it owna dance, the dancers dem love it, right now, the summer look good," he said. Khago won the Most Improved Artiste Award during the recent Linkage Awards held in New York City, at the Thornton High School in Mount Vernon. Khago pipped peers such as I-Octane and KipRich to win the award.
He said that he has been approached by an international consortium of investors who want to invest in his career. "Right now, mi ah do a number of meetings with overseas investors who want to take up the management of my career," Khago said. Ricardo ‘Khago’ Gayle often punctuates his recordings and performances with a stirring ‘sey so!’. While instantly identifiable with Khago, the phrase serves a much larger purpose than announcing his presence. It speaks to the singer’s sincerity and determination to express himself on crucial issues and topics.
Those issues are varied, from aching regret at his father’s passing (‘Daddy From You Gone’) to the almost inexpressible desire for a particular woman’s love (‘Not a Man of Many Words’). Khago is not afraid to let his woman know he is ‘Addicted’, even as she tries to end the relationship. Nor does he back down from stating outright that “politician, the whole a them a liar” (‘Caan Cool’).And he speaks directly to the youth of the underclass in ‘Only if You Know’.
The late 2009 ‘Caan Cool’ is his most popular single to date, seeing strong chart action in Jamaica. It is significant that ‘Daddy From You Gone’ is one of the very few songs by a male Jamaican artiste honoring their father. Khago pays respect to “to all you wonderful Dads out there, even though more time some a we deadbeat”. And he honors his own father, singing “this one reaching out to you, you never no sperm donor”.
Khago has long been determined to ‘sey so!’ at the highest level, entering the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission Festival Song Contest twice. He placed third and also won Best Video in 2006 with ‘Only if You Know’. Khago improved to second place in 2007 with 'Been There'. His long-time interest in music deepened when he was 16 years old. Khago’s melodic style and of delivery and vivid writing reflect the influence of his two musical models, distinctive singjay Vegas and superb writer

Since the release of " ISAT INNAT" her debut album in 2005, Empress Ayeola has been described as a Musical Warrioress, born in England in 1963 her family returned to Jamaica when she was two years old where she grew up attending primary & Secondary school in the parish of Manchester.
It was while attending high school (Cross Keys Secondary) that her singing potential came to the attention of her then music teacher the late Sonia Spence, better known for her seventies hit (Leaving on a Jet Plane). Spotting her vocal abilities, she introduced her to the music business as a teenager starting as a backing vocalist doing sessions with Sonia and other artist at various studios and at live shows in Jamaica, before eventually stepping out in her own right.

Light It Up, the new record from artist Collie Buddz
|
Light It Up, the new record from artist Collie Buddz, is momentous, gigantic and booming! It’s immediately undeniable an awe-struck song complete with an unforgettable sing-along hook, the kind of beats that pound in the chest and a vocal performance that's as uncommon as it is infectious.
A hit record is probably the only thing that makes Salaam Remi pause his day. Remi, most known as one of the top-selling music producers in the world [Fugees, Usher, Fergie, and Amy Winehouse] and Executive Vice-President at Sony Music knows an irrefutable song when he hears it. After discovering Light It Up, Remi made an offer to Collie Buddz to join his label imprint Louder Than Life, a division of Sony Music Entertainment.

If you wish, and we really wish you wouldn't, like to be removed from this list, please reply with REMOVE in subject line.
It will make us very sad if you do, and perhaps your removal will be the one the makes us decide this no longer worth doing at all, and all the information we provide will go away forever and musicians will sit home alone at night and cry because they have no one to play for because no one knows about their shows.
