Greetings from your E-Editor...
Blues/Roots Nominations are cause for celebration

I'm sure some of us are still digesting turkey from Thanksgiving and now Christmas is almost here! Yes, eating is one way to celebrate the holidays, but how about finding out you've been honored with a prestigious Blues Music Award (BMA) nomination by the Blues Foundation? The recent announcement of the 36th annual BMA nominees is a huge cause for celebration for over 100 blues music makers in 24 categories. A ballot will be sent out soon to Blues Foundation members and those votes will decide who will take home the coveted BMA's in May. If you're not a member of the Blues Foundation you can join up at blues.org!

There are also blues/roots/soul nominees in several on the 57th Grammy's list!

Etta Britt :: ETTA DOES DELBERT
Etta Does Delbert is a collection of one of Nashville’s finest R&B singer/songwriters, Etta Britt’s favorite Delbrt McClinton songs. There’s also a bonus track of a new tune written by Etta and Kevin McKendree.

“I have been a fan of Delbert since the mid-eighties,” shares Etta. “While on the road as part of RCA Records recording group, Dave & Sugar, I had a conversation with David Hyde, our bass player. David asked, “What are you doing singing country music?” I really didn’t know how to answer except to say “It’s my job”. He then added, “But you’re not a country singer, you’re an R&B singer.” I was shocked. No one had ever said anything like that to me. He suggested I listen to some Delbert songs, so I did, and fell head over heels in love with his voice. Read more details here...
