A young brunette goes into the doctor's office and says that her body hurts wherever she touches it.
"Impossible," says the doctor. "Show me."
She takes her finger and pushes her elbow and screams in agony. She pushes her knee and screams, pushes her ankle and screams and so it goes on, everywhere she touches makes her scream.
The doctor says, "You're not really a brunette, are you?"

A Blonde was down on her luck. In order to raise some money, she decided to kidnap a kid and hold him for ransom.
She went to the playground, grabbed a kid, took him behind a tree, and told him, "I`ve kidnapped you."
She then wrote a note saying, "I`ve kidnapped your kid. Tomorrow morning, put $10,000 in a paper bag and put it under the pecan tree next to the slide on the north side of the playground. Signed, Blonde."
The Blonde then taped the note to the kid`s shirt and sent him home to show it to his parents.
The next morning the blonde checked, and sure enough, a paper bag was sitting beneath the pecan tree.
The blonde opened the bag and found the $10,000 with a note that said, "How could you do this to a fellow Blonde?"

Dear Mr. Corning, I'm sorry you didn't like the Fox catalog. Abby and I try to please but realize we can't make everyone happy and we also make mistakes. You are right, we changed the size without changing the description about five years ago! I fixed it at the website and will change it at Ebay as soon as I can. The color part refers to the cover, not the insides which we identify as being in color below in the description if they are color. We also put a photo of the cover and insides with each ad showing an inside page indicating color or not. I understand if you could have been misled and I asked Abby to refund all your money, postage included. Please keep the copy, don't bother returning it. Hello Abby, I just received the two publications I ordered from you - thank you very much! I ordered the two publications because they are both advertised (at CornellPubs & GunBroker) as containing information about the Hopkins & Allen "Noiseless" rifle, which is my sole interest for a project I am researching. The first publication, ("Hopkins & Allen Arms Memorabilia Society Newsletters - Vol 1-6 Carder"), does indeed contain references to the Noiseless rifle, exactly as advertised, which I am absolutely delighted with. However, the second publication, ("Hopkins & Allen 1914 Late Catalog"), although lovingly restored and fascinating to browse through, does not contain any references to the Noiseless rifle - at least not that I can find. (The online listings show references to the Noiseless rifle in that catalog under "contents-index"). Can you please let me know if I am simply not locating that information correctly in that particular publication, or, is it possible that that publication may have been inadvertently advertised incorrectly online. (Another possibility is that there may have been a separate insert for the Noiseless rifle that may have been included with the catalog, but didn't make it into the printing of the main catalog.). Hi, I'd like to order the Colt c1927 Revolver Police Handbook, item#1102, but I can't seem to figure out how to use your website. When I press the add to cart button it redirects me to the Paypal website, but gives me no other information on how to complete the order. Dear Richard, Paypal may be having an overload with people returning Christmas gifts and that may be the trouble. Many stores now use Paypal as an option for payment and I bet they were just overwhelmed. It may be a bit confusing but we use a simple Paypal shopping cart because Paypal is our "bank". You can pay through Paypal using any credit card and don't need an account with Paypal. The shopping cart will also accumulate selections if you want more than one item. Anyway, I'll ask Abby to send you an electronic "invoice" that you can pay and that should take care of it! Cheers, Rob
Abby, My wife surprises me with three of your reprints for Christmas. She did well getting three that I did not already have. While reading through the Henry’s Repeating Rifle 1865 catalogue, I noticed that page are actually from a Spencer book. In case you are interested, I have a January 1938 Bannerman catalogue with some chipping of cover and most of spine gone. the pages are yellow & a little brittle but intact. Sincerely, James Payne

Dear Mike, I'm sorry, International Postage is extremely expensive now with the new rates. We try to get reasonably close with our shopping cart but because we print over 5000 different publications, each weighing a different amount and combined different amounts still. Anyway, I always try to refund postage if it is way over and would do that in your case. There is no more sea shipment or first class and that method ruined too much stuff anyway. So, shipping is based on weight and after a certain point you have to go to Priority International. Hope this helps, Happy Holidays, Abby

Dear Michael, Not unless your Remington was registered with the seller or the police. On the other hand you may be able to retrieve the information on your computer unless you reformatted the hard drive. Install another hard drive, put windows on it and all the information on the other hard drive should be available. Also, there are computer forensic people who recover crashed drives. Abby

Dear Abby, I will order the ones you highlighted. Just a little story if you are interested. My father took me to the Military Inn (Detroit, Mi) when I was four or five and I remember meeting Roy Scates and he signed a copy of this publication for me. I don't know what happened to it after I left home and got married. He told many gunfight stories and we were totally mesmerized. I believe he was in his late 90's if not over 100. I can remember it as if it were yesterday. We had to have chaps and a gunbelt and cowboy hat immediately after that visit. Our trip for vacation that summer was to Dodge City, Kansas, Deadwood, South Dakota and Estes Park, Colorado. Regards, Stu Kleven

Dear 54… Probably not. In 1964 most gun companies shifted to using cheaper stamped receivers rather than machined receivers. Yours is one of those and so not exactly the same as the one featured in this manual. Abby

Hi Abby, Thanks. Is it possible to get an electronic copy of these also? I’m trying to do research on the engraving of Lancasters and also on the original finish methods of the metal. Copies of copies of copies will degrade my research ability quite a bit. If you’re concerned about protecting your work, would you be willing to send me a digital picture of 1 or 2 of the images from the catalog for closer inspection AFTER I receive the catalogs from you? Also, do you have more Lancaster catalogs that you’ve not yet converted to printed catalogs as of yet? I’m working in earnest to find a catalog photo of a gun similar to the attached picture. It was made in 1896 as a 20bore (20 gauge) and has a single selective trigger and very deep, profound engraving. No gun has surfaced in the past 25 years that matches this gun so I’m hoping a catalog example may explain what it is, what it cost, model name, etc. Regards, Troy Moritz

They maybe more. 1.)The color is the brown is wrong. 2.)There is too much spacing between pages to the inside margin. This creates a white border on the left side when the pages are stapled together. Dear Gary, We don't and can't make forgeries of originals. It would be impossible to precisely match the color of inks, paper and binding and still produce over 5000 different publications to order. The reason for this is that very few individual publications sell more than one or two times a year and the cost of making an exact replica of slow selling products like that would be huge. Dear Lyndsay, There is a Marlin lever action rifle prominently featured in the catalog. Unfortunately they did not identify it as anything other that, the Marlin lever action rifle. Assuming they didn't come out with a new model between 1881 and when they printed the catalog in 1882, that should be what became to be known as the model 1881. I'm not a Marlin expert and if you need further confirmation, you should contact a Marlin expert. Cheers, Abby

Roger, We talked about this when you bought the Lyman catalogs and we told you that because we reprint over 5000 old gun catalogs we have chosen to make them in certain standard sizes so we can make our manufacturing process efficient. Now, you asked about the Ideal catalogs. Most of those are reprinted in "half size" and are folded or thermal bound. Only a few are printed on 8 1/2 x 11 paper. The originals were often a bit smaller than the "half size" reprints but people complained the type and illustrations were too small to read. We made them a bit bigger. Anyway, there is nothing we can do until after the holidays and then, if you are still intent on getting something printed specially for you perhaps we can help. Best, Rob

Dear norto… We are not reloaders and can only say that I doubt it. Don't think you should buy it because you might be disappointed. By the way, all ammunition in the Ackley books is listed by caliber and as you don't mention that I wouldn't even know where to begin. Cheers, Rob

Richard, We offer over 5000 different old firearms catalogs and some are great others not so much. I wish you had told us about your problem when you got it and I would have tried to fix the problem because sometimes the printer is low on ink or some other controllable problem. Looking up what you bought I see it was a 140 year old one and I am afraid the thing was just light or as you say “burned up”, sorry. Let us know. Best, Abby

Ms. Abby, Do any of your Winchester Model 12 Shotgun manuals specify thread pitch of the various screws and bolts or any of your reference books? I am specifically trying to find out the diameter and thread pitch of the carrier plunger screw that is in the carrier assembly on a 12 guage Model 12 (nickel steel barrel manufactured about 1922 by serial #). I have your Model 42 manual but no thread pitch is listed on any of the fasteners. I have additional emails out to parts suppliers for this gun. SIncerely, John C.

Dear Grud... No. We use "c", short for circa meaning "about" when we are uncertain of a date. Sometimes circa is abbreviated as "ca". we use "c" because "ca" confused some folks. Rob

If it is any help to you, the 1907 Eley catalog we reprint seems to have some pages of pressures. * Tired of SPAM? Virginia Carter (our website guru from Carolina Web Creations) says:
1. Never use your main email address when signing up for stuff online. (ie: forums, purchases, etc.) There are many free email services out there (Google, Yahoo, Juno, etc.) where you can create an email address for your online activity and help control spam.
2. Use forwards cautiously - Use BCC (look for the link to open it near your address bar). Cut and paste the addresses you want to send to into BCC and this hides them from hackers and harvesters... helps control spam!
3. Use caution when visiting websites. Just visiting a webpage can infect your computer. Not all No.1 listed sites on Google are safe!
4. If you get an email from someone you don't know, DO NOT OPEN IT. And the most important - if you get an attachment from anyone with an extension of ".exe" - DO NOT OPEN IT! (.exe is an executable program, and once you double click on it, it will run some kind of program on your computer, usually designed to hurt your computer, possibly ruin it!)
5. If you're interested in "cleaning up" your computer to remove possible spamware and malware, you can download free programs like Spybot and Ad-Aware.
At the Cornellpubs website, you will find many gunmaker "master pages" listing all the catalog reprints of one brand. To the right of each "master page" are names of catalogs by merchants who carried that brand of firearms. For example, I reprint over 60 Remington factory gun catalogs but I also reprint over 160 gun catalogs from merchants that sold Remington firearms such as Sears or Abercrombie & Fitch or Spalding. Those are the listings on the right of the page.
Using the merchant links, you can identify a catalog from just about any year that displays the Remington line and by looking at the individual page indexes you can figure out what models were made in what year without spending a dime. Of course I would be happy to sell you those catalogs too! Most major gunmakers have a "master page" and I am adding more all the time.
* You can increase the size of the text on the screen by holding down the Control key (that's the one in the lower left of the keyboard with Ctrl on it) and scrolling the wheel on top of your mouse back and forth.
* Whenever I scan a delicate old catalog I use my book scanner. The catalog hangs over the side of the scanner and only needs to be opened 90 degrees. This puts much less stress on the spine.
So there you have it, a tip that I hope will result in a torrent of eager collectors now willing to let me scan their old gun catalogs... but, please call or write first, don't just send them because I may already have scans of that particular item. I still have hundreds of old catalogs on file that I haven't got to yet.
* How to pay for things on the internet while using your credit card with some safety... You have to make certain the site accepting your credit card is secure. Normally the site URL begins with http: etc. but a secure site has a different beginning. It starts with https:. etc. The "S" means the site is using encryption software and it is pretty safe to send your card information to the company if you trust the company! By the way, do not send your credit card information in an email. Emails are NOT secure!
Many folks call me to give me an order over the telephone because they "don't like to use their credit cards on the internet". Well, every time you use your credit card at stores, banks, gas stations, restaurants or anywhere else, the transaction is recorded on the internet! Do you trust the company you are giving the info to?
