You’re Invited to the YMCA Camp Watia Groundbreaking
|
Summer learning loss. Academic achievement. Youth Obesity. Stress and emotional disorders. Our children are at risk and these are just a few of the struggles they might face. YMCA Camp Watia will counter these risks, providing a brilliant, enriching outdoor classroom for kids.
Camp programming will build a nurturing foundation where kids learn, take risks, and feel a sense of belonging within a supportive family. Once built out to capacity, YMCA Camp Watia will serve approximately 265 children a week over 8 weeks in the summer months, reaching a total of 2,120 children!
Join us as we break ground on Western North Carolina's first affordable residential camp on Friday, May 8th. For registration and more information visit: www.ymcawnc.org/watia

Important Information for Parents of 11 and 12 Year Old Youth
|
Just a reminder of our facility age policies for use of the gymnasium:
· If you are 13 or older, you may use the gym without supervision.
· If you are 11-12, you may use the gym without supervision after you have successfully completed a Youth Orientation. You must wear your Orientation lanyard. If you have not completed a Youth Orientation, you must have adult supervision.
· If you are 10 or under, you may only use the gym with supervision.
Moving forward, YMCA staff will ask 11 and 12 year olds without adult supervision to leave the gymnasium if they have not completed a youth orientation.
