Colin Linden :: RICH IN LOVE
Acclaimed eight-time Juno Award-winning singer/guitarist Colin Linden CD, Rich in Love on Stony Plain, marks a return to the same label that released Colin’s first studio album, The Immortals, in 1986, and also represents his first new studio recording since From the Water in 2009. Colin Linden’s last album was a live recording released in 2011.
Sporting a beautiful cover designed by Jim Sherraden of Nashville’s famed Hatch Show Print, Rich in Love was produced, recorded and performed by Colin Linden (guitars, vocals, ukuleles and mandolins) and his band, affectionately known as The Rotting Matadors: John Dymond on bass and Gary Craig on drums. Special guests include multiple Blues Music Award-winner and six-time Grammy nominee Charlie Musselwhite on harmonica, legendary keyboardist Reese Wynans (Stevie Ray Vaughan), Amy Helm (Levon Helm, Ollabelle) on harmony vocals and organist Tim Lauer (Rodney Crowell, Keb’ Mo’, Allison Moorer, Lady Antebellum).

Mick Kolassa, whose 2014 release Michissippi Mick received critical acclaim and significant airplay, has produced Ghosts of The Riverside Hotel, another blend of original songs with very original covers, and delivers it with a musical powerhouse of performances and performers.
Mick and Producer Jeff Jensen have once again put together a collection of songs that touch on and draw from many blues styles. From the West Coast swing of “I Always Meant to Love You” to the Blues-rock infused update of the Hank Williams classic “Ramblin Man” to the laid back acoustic blues of “If I Ain’t Fishin” it’s easy to see that Mick loves blues of all kinds.

"Hendrix had this big English road manager ride us all out of the hotel," Landreth recalled, in a recent telephone interview. "We scattered."
Then the kids walked into the hotel gift shop.
"The next thing you know, Jimi walks in.

The Talkin'Blues Podcast with Mako Funasaka

Intro from Mako Funasaka:
Ivan Neville is the founder of Dumpstaphunk - one of the funkiest bands around. He is the son of Aaron Neville and continues the great New Orleans musical family tradition. He has played with the who's who of music including Bonnie Raitt, Keith Richards, Rufus, Spin Doctors and the Neville Brothers to name but a few. I had the pleasure of sitting down with him in a quick interview after his band's performance at the Toronto Jazz Festival last summer.(Music: "Leaving" by Steve Strongman. Special thanks to Bruce Greenaway and Amee Jana of Silverback Artist Management.)
