Memphis Here We Come… lots of ways to win
(MEMPHIS, TN) - The Blues Festival Guide (BFG) will have a table set up at the official IBC Registration area at the Tin Roof (315 Beale St.) Jan 23. Be sure to drop by and meet BFG Representatives Tom Andrews and Belinda Holloway and drop off your business card for a chance to win FREE advertising with Blues Festival Guide! While you’re there you can grab some Mardi Gras beads (while they last) that were actually caught during parades at the 2018 Mardi Gras in New Orleans.

The International Blues Challenge represents the worldwide search for those Blues Bands and Solo/Duo Blues Acts ready to perform on the international stage, yet just needing that extra big break. Each Affiliate (blues society) of The Blues Foundation has the right to send a band and a solo/duo act to represent its organization at the IBC. Affiliates can also submit a CD for the Best Self-Produced category.

There are over 111 entries in the band, solo/duo and youth divisions from around the blues globe plus five Best Self-Produced CD finalists.

Travis Bowlin :: SECUNDUS
Travis Bowlin‘s second studio album, Secundus, is a flavorful, driven yet sultry rock/soul/blues opus that takes us from there jazzy, smoky, lounge feeling of “Casaurina Sand” to heavy/hitting rock songs like “Dancing With The Devil.” There’s plenty of soul in between with tunes like “Strange Vibes” with its Wilson Pickett feel from start to finish, and the downright dirty blue stylings of tracks like “Slow Cooker Man” and “Vicksburg Blues.” This record is filled with lyrics that take you right there like a movie inside your head. There’s love, hate, happiness, sadness, and plenty of attitude throughout. The 12 original compositions were recorded it Mainframe Recording Studio with Bowlin serving as producer and Nathan Smith as sound engineer.

Secundus debuted at #8 on the Global Album Blues/Rock charts, #8 on the Tennessee Blues/Rock Album charts, #47 on Amazon’s 100 Top Selling Blues Albums, #33 on iTunes Top 200 Best Selling Blues Albums, made it on six Top 50 charts and jumped quickly from #38 to #5 on the Root’s Music Reports Blues Rock Charts. ...Find more about this artist and release
