Blues News You Can Use!
Over Half Way
I know it seems I am overly focused on the calendar, but sometimes it feels that is the best plan of action for February. A short month that at least in my world is dominated by activities that are more time consuming and often more work than fun, it seems I am daily calculating what is yet to do and how long I have to do it! Have you found a better approach? Please drop me an email and let me in on your plan!

Again this week the news items below include an article about the upcoming annual board meeting and elections. The date for the annual meeting will be set this coming week when the OBS board holds it's February meeting on Tuesday, February 19th. Remember, this is YOUR organization. Members are always welcome at board meetings. Please read the article for more information on nominations and elections.
Also this week is another call out to local musicians interested in assisting with Blues in the Schools. One band has responded but I would like to hear from others so that I might update my list. We anticipate one blues event in the next few weeks, but there are often requests that come up throughout the year and it helps to have a list of interested artists.
As I mentioned last week, the blues world is full of news and I am always looking for folks interested in helping take this newsletter to the next level! Email
Sandy at the link below for more information. Some fun events are on the calendar below so don't forget to check it out so you don't miss all the fun live music events in the area! And always remember, this is YOUR newsletter! Please send feedback or suggestions our way. You can reach me by email at the address below. We LOVE our readers and want to see
your ideas included!

Calling All Artists Interested in
Blues in the Schools
Ozark Blues Society is looking to update our list of local/regional artists who would like to participate in our Blues in the Schools Programs. We have an upcoming need for a band to assist in our annual Fayetteville Public Schools 7th grade outreach. Though it functions as an outreach, this daytime program is a paid activity for the local artists that participate. The 2019 dates have not been set but will likely be scheduled soon and the program will take place in the next few weeks. Ozark Blues Society will assist as needed in the presentation so no experience is required. If your band, or one you
know of, is interested in contributing, please email Sandy McCann

Annual Meeting
and Elections
With our annual meeting fast approaching (watch this newsletter and our website for upcoming announcement of date) Ozark Blues Society board of directors is seeking input from our members in the form of nominations of members and friends who might be interested in joining the board or serving as an officer. Membership is required to officially nominate and vote but if you, or someone you know, is interested, please email LIZ LOTTMANN for more information.
