It's International Coaching Week AND the 15th anniversary of the Kaizen-Muse Creativity Coaching training!
To celebrate, I'm feeling generous. There is a a free Zoom workshop available from the comfort of your home on Thursday, May 2, a few fun PDFs in this very newsletter, and an introduction to ten illustrious Kaizen-Muses Creativity Coaches and an Adjunct Professor.
PDF coloring pages, permission slips, and a handy list-maker are available somewhere within the contents of this e-letter, kinda like looking for an Easter egg, but this time YOU get to find them.
How is KMCC Different?
The Kaizen-Muse is a bit of a renegade. She or he dispatches tools uniquely designed for the resistant creative who gets
overwhelmed
procrastinates
doesn't know where to start
doesn't finish projects
is immobilized by perfectionism and derailed by comparison
rarely thinks he or she is good enough,
is rebellious and sensitive
moody and prone to crankiness when his or her creative passion is ignored
needs a fresh approach and permission to break rules.
KMCC was developed with an intuitive, playful, but downright knock-your-socks-off approach that comes when you honor the creative process and the sensitivities of the creative person:
Creative people don't like to be told what to do
Dry theoretical approaches to creativity aren't as appealing as intuitive, compassionate, and wily approaches.
Moving forward with creativity doesn't work when you just talk about it; momentum on creative passions is created DURING a KMCC session.
Guided creative experiences provide needed structure to lasso in the creative mind so it can connect to spontaneity, intuition, inherent strengths, former successes, imagination, and idea formation as well as follow-through.
I could go on and on, or if your curiosity has been tickled you could go here.
Procrastination is one of the biggest detractors from the creative process. It becomes a habit for many reasons, that's why it requires extra sneaky skills, as well as a lot of kindness to get through it. Join me to find out how... or sign-up if you can't make it and the recording will be sent to you.
Jun 6, 2019 11:00 AM in Pacific Time (US and Canada) (12 mtn, 1 central, 2 eastern)
The workshop will be recorded and an MP3 download will be sent to all who sign-up. Sign-up here
Certified Kaizen-Muse Creativity Coaches and Faculty
Since 2004, Kaizen-Muse Creativity Coaching Training has been training and certifying people from all walks of life to assist others to not only reach their creative dreams but also to use these tools to live life more mindfully and authentically. There are many Certified Kaizen-Muse Creativity Coaches out there to catalyze your creative self one-on-one, and I'm proud to share ten of them and our own Bob Maurer here with you.
Dr. Robert Maurer is adjunct professor on the KMCC™ Faculty. He is also the Director of Behavioral Sciences for the Family Practice Residency Program in Spokane, Washington, and a faculty member of the UCLA School of Medicine and the University of Washington School of Medicine. His books include One Small Step Can Change Your Life published in twenty languages, and The Spirit of Kaizen.
Sarah Sadie, is a Master KMCC™ Coach & Teacher in Training sarahsadie@atodonata.com "I discovered KMCC during a time of burnout. While I took a break from writing, KMCC gave me the tools and the courage to rediscover my love of dance. KMCC has helped me learn to follow joy, curiosity, wonder and fun towards the next creative adventure. Now I help others do the same." Sarah's specialties here.
"Kaizen-Muse Creativity Coaching has helped me become more relaxed and enlivened in the way I approach my creative work. It's small step methodology and gentle invitation to show up artistically in each moment has increased both my joy and perhaps surprisingly, my productivity. Few things have been so deeply moving and powerful whilst remaining so light, playful and manageable. I’m thrilled to be bringing this practice to more people." Nick's specialties here
"KMCC helped me to overcome the sometimes crippling affects of perfectionism. In fact, I didn’t even know I was a perfectionist until I took this training. Learning to be ok with things being close enough - was liberating. I no longer fear making mistakes or even being disappointed. Life has become so much more enjoyable and fuller once I understood and embraced my creative process - where mistakes and obstacles, even fears are transformed into creative challenges. And creative challenges turn into unimaginable and delightful possibilities.." More About Mary's Specialties
"The biggest way Kaizen Muse Creativity Coaching helped me as an artist was to lead me away from my self induced “Art Hermitage” and introduce me to my tribe of creative friends. Lamenting life as a lonely tortured artist really cramped my style at parties and PTO meetings. Having people who support my efforts and understand creative struggles makes everything so less melodramatic! Knowing the strength and confidence that I gained through these connections gives me a strong sense of purpose to help others find peace in their efforts too.
If I can help just one artist avoid melodrama and not have to sacrifice their sanity for the sake of their art, I can do a self-satisfied slow motion walk into the sunset, knowing my work here is done." More about Nicole's Specialties here
Kim Evans Certified Kaizen-Muse™Creativity Coach kestudio@att.net
"KMCC has changed my life! The philosophy of small steps is something I use every day to break through overwhelm, release perfectionism, and be more gentle with myself. Kaizen works for everything – from household chores to big creative projects. When I came to KMCC, I was struggling to finish a book I’d been writing for eight years. Without these tools and the support of my master coach, I would never have been able to bring my book to the finish line. Becoming an author has been one of the greatest accomplishments of my life. Jill has also helped me find ways to market my business that are uniquely me. I now pass these tools along to my clients, and love helping them find their unique message and voice." Brenda Kolasa Certified Kaizen-Muse™Creativity Coach www.brendakolasa.com "KMCC coaching has given me the opportunity to share revolutionary creative thinking strategies with others going through challenges affecting the success of various outcomes and ultimately their businesses. With a background in visual branding (graphic design), I have encountered feeling stuck on a daily basis. Stuck with looming deadlines, ideas, and inspiration to say the very least! Through coaching, I not only get to re-learn the tools that have been so valuable for myself, but I I get to see those incredible “aha” moments that others have during coaching sessions, workshops, masterminds and presentations as well. It’s a win-win! More about Brenda's specialties here.
KMCC and the Muses have encouraged and supported me to jump into my non-comfort zones, like making a smooth, fun transition from many years in the corporate world; teaching dance exercise classes; and taking an improv class. KMCC and The Muses have enabled me to make softer landings through many leaps of faith. Among the highlights for me is reframing procrastination to work in my favor, and the shifts that have come with “I get to” in place of “I have to” More about Jamie's Specialty
In 2009 I found Kaizen-Muse during a low point in my life. I was so focused on helping others discover creative solutions to their challenges that I lost myself. Using the effective Kaizen-Muse tools such as taking small steps, anchor statements, visualizations and the many muses representing creative tools I rediscovered and redefined myself.
