Cary Morin :: WHEN I RISE
Award-winning blues/roots singer-songwriter Cary Morin album, When I Rise is his sixth release. The even-dozen tracks include 10 originals, plus Morin’s take on the Jerry Garcia/Robert Hunter song, “Dire Wolf,” and a beautiful version of Duane Allman’s classic, “Little Martha.” When I Rise was awarded Best Blues Album by 2019 Indigenous Music Awards on May 17, 2019 in Winnipeg, Canada. The awards are part of the annual Manito Ahbee Festival, which celebrates Indigenous arts, culture and music.

Described as “one of the best acoustic pickers on the scene today,” Cary Morin brings together the great musical traditions of America and beyond like no other artist. With deft fingerstyle guitar and vocals that alternately convey melodic elation and gritty world-weariness, Morin crafts an inimitable style often characterized as acoustic Native Americana with qualities of blues, bluegrass, jazz, jam, reggae, and dance.

For these Colorado recording sessions, Cary Morin (guitars, pedal steel guitar, vocals) surrounded himself with a sympathetic cast of all-star musicians that uniquely complemented what he created:

(DUCK HILL, MS) - The Grassroots Blues Festival in Duck Hill, Mississippi is a celebration of our rich cultural heritage of blues music and the artists who demonstrated mastery of their artistic discipline. Our goal is to educate and preserve this traditional art form of music for future generations to come. The Grassroots Blues Festival is an annual event that takes place on the 2nd Saturday of July and now includes the Friday evening preceding it.

For more information contact Al White by phone (662) 809-7002, email, or look us up on Facebook. ...Find more about the Grassroots Blues Festival

Youth Rules at Allentown’s 12th Blues, Brews & Barbecue June 8
(ALLENTOWN, PA) - On Saturday, June 8, 2019 over 20,000 Blues enthusiasts gather in downtown Allentown each year for the 12th annual Blues, Brews & Barbecue festival. Spanning six stages of free music, the festival will stretch from 9th & Hamilton Streets down to 5th Street.

Headlining the main stage will be Brandon “Taz” Neiderauer, the 16-year-old wunderkind guitarist who starred on Broadway in “School of Rock,” and who since has shared the stage with some of rock’s biggest acts. Co-headlining will be Vanessa Collier, a 27-year-old singer and sax player who in the past three years has been nominated for five Blues Music Awards, and who this year won for Best Instrumental-Horn. Also on the bill is 24-year-old King Solomon Hicks, a singer and guitarist from Harlem in New York. In all, the fest will present a record 23 performances on six stages over 10 hours.
