As you will see in this month's newsletter, there is a LOT going on in the drama scene around the country! Our DLI Convention is earlier than usual in 2020, and we invite all our members to join us in the home of the DLI, dlr Mill Theatre, Dundrum on 1 March - more details below.
The 2020 ADCI Full Length Festival Circuit gets underway this weekend 21 February, with 35 festivals running throughout Ireland until Saturday 28 March. Kilmuckridge, Newtownstewart and Rush Festivals lead the way - all details, including nightly programmes and festival contacts on www.adci.ie. Good luck to all the groups going out,and support your local festival!
The All Ireland Confined Finals are hosted this year by Ballyshannon Drama Festival, and will be held 17 -25 April in The Abbey Centre, Ballyshannon with adjudicator Paul Fowler.

The RTE All Ireland Open Finals, will be held, as usual, in Dean Crowe Theatre, Athlone
30 April - 9 May with adjudicator Michael Poynor.

The Annual General Meeting gives members an opportunity to review the past year in the Drama League of Ireland, to learn about plans for the year ahead, and to influence decisions that are made on the future of the organisation. The AGM will include the process of electing new Committee members. All DLI members welcome. It’s important that two delegates from each DLI member drama group and all individual members attend and vote.
We look forward to welcoming you to The Mill on 1 March!
Motions for Convention, received by the deadline Friday February 7th 2020 are as follow: 1.'That there should be more stringent and transparent procedures around the activities and behaviour of the Adjudicator' - submitted by Model Box Productions.
2. 'That more clear direction be given to festivals around the 1-Act selection process, and also the number of festivals per weekend'. - submitted by Model Box Productions.
3. The Board of the DLI proposes to increase the annual membership fee from €120 to €140 from January 2021. - submitted by the DLI Board.
4. 'That there be three Adjudicators adjudicating at the All Ireland
1-Act Finals'- co-sponsored by Coolgreany ADS, Bradán Players, Cornmill Theatre, Bunclody-Kilmyshall DG, Seumas O'Kelly Players, Model Box Productions, Rasper Players, Enniscorthy DG, Lucan Drama,Wayside Players and Martello Productions.

Director, Willie O'Brien, is delighted that Pius McGrath has joined our line -up of tutors for DLI Summer School 2020. Pius is Assistant Technical Manager in University Concert Hall, Limerick, and his Course G will concentrate on Sound and Lighting.
COURSE A Belinda Wild: Newcomers to acting and directing
COURSE B Geoff O'Keeffe: Dare to Dream - Dare to Direct for aspiring, or for directors with some experience.
COURSE C Aaron Monaghan: For actors with some experience.
COURSE D Wayne Jordan: For experienced directors.
COURSE E Peter McAllister Scenes from An Ideal Husband & Lady's Windermere's Fan by Oscar Wilde: For experienced actors.
COURSE F Ciarán McCauley And Then You Act! Movement & Physical Theatre.
