Directions Scrambled Eggs:
- Preheat skillet for 3 minutes over medium-low heat (approximately 250°). Break desired number of eggs open in the bowl. Add water and whisk together until thoroughly blended. Pour egg mixture in the skillet. Using the edge of the turner, push the eggs around in the skillet and cook approximately 3 minutes until there is no liquid remaining, or to desired texture.
- Note: Adding water to the eggs prior to cooking make the eggs fluffy and light. Cooking time may vary depending on the number of eggs cooking. All stoves vary in cooking, so finding the right temperature setting on your stove will make a difference in how easy eggs are to cook and the utensil is to clean.
Directions - Hard Cooked Eggs
- Fill pan with 5 eggs. Add 2 tablespoons of water to the pan, and cover. Place on burner and set temperature to medium. When Vapo-Valve™ begins to click, turn temperature to low setting. After Vapo-Valve has activated cook eggs for 5 - 6 for medium cooked center and 7 – 9 minutes for hard cooked center. Cooking time may vary with stove.
- By adding a little water to the pan helps the Vapo-Valve to activate when the inside cooking temperature reaches approximately 180 degrees, and signals it’s time to turn the temperature to low setting for the remaining cooking time.
- Note: All stoves vary in cooking temperatures, so finding the right temperature setting on your stove will make a difference in how easy eggs are to cook and the utensil is to clean.
Directions - Eggs Over Easy
- Place griddle on burner and preheat over medium-low heat for 3 minutes. Crack egg over griddle. Place a medium size cover (2 – 3 quart cover) over egg and cook for 2 minutes. Uncover and loosen the edges of egg with turner. Quickly slide turner under the entire egg and flip to cook other side. Cover and cook for 1-minute.
- Note: Make sure griddle is thoroughly cleaned with Saladmaster Stainless Steel Cleaner and warm soapy water, rinsed and then dried to remove previous proteins or food residue that may remain on the griddle prior to cooking. Protein buildup appears as a white residue. Using a turner with a sharp beveled edge allows for ease in turning. All stoves vary in cooking, so finding the right temperature setting on your stove will make a difference in how easy eggs are to cook and the utensil is to clean.

chicken thighs, boneless, skinless
Directions:
- Preheat the electric skillet to 450°F/230°C.
- Place chicken in skillet; it will initially stick.
- Place cover on skillet, leaving the lid ajar. This will allow air to flow through the cookware creating a crispy, fried chicken (as opposed to the baking method).
- When the chicken loosens from the skillet, approximately 10 - 15 minutes (the length of time depends on the size of the chicken), turn and cook another 10 - 15 minutes.
- Optional: Season the hot chicken with desired seasonings once removed from the skillet.

| COOKING Tips in Saladmaster |
WASH FIRST BEFORE USING It is important to wash cookware thoroughly before initial use. Thoroughly cleaning your cookware will remove any traces of manufacturing oils or polishing compounds. If the cookware is not pre-washed, it may discolor when heated. Using a dishcloth or sponge, wash each utensil in hot, soapy Water to which cup of vinegar has been added. After washing, rinse thoroughly with hot water and towel dry for a mirror like finish. Cookware can also be washed in an automatic dishwasher prior to initial use. To prevent scratching, place each utensil carefully into dishwasher, ensuring utensils do not touch one another or other objects being washed. To maintain a polished finish on the handles, avoid using abrasive cleanser on the handles or cleaning them in the dishwasher. Water spotting may occur during the drying cycle. To help prevent spotting, we recommend adding a rinse agent in addition to the dishwasher detergent.
Can I put Saladmaster cookware in the dishwasher? Yes. We recommend that Versa Loc™ Handles be hand washed, as repeated washing in the dishwasher may dull the handles. We recommend that you avoid the heat-dry cycle of the dishwasher by using the energy-efficient air-dry cycle.
After I’ve lowered the heat and the seal has formed, can I lift the lid? Yes. After replacing the lid, spin it so that the Vapo Valve™ clicks, indicating that it has resealed. If it does not, increase the heat until the valve clicks, then reduce heat to low.
What if my range cooks at a higher temperature than normal? If your lowest temperature is still too high, you may need to purchase a heat-reducing pad for your burner, such as the type used under glass coffeepots on electric ranges.
Can I ever cook over high heat? Yes, It is okay to bring large amounts of liquid to a boil, such as water for pasta, over medium-high heat. For all other cooking, MEDIUM – CLICK – LOW is all you need to know!
Can I carve foods in the pan? To maintain your cookware’s finish, it is recommended that foods be removed to a cutting board for carving. Foods may be returned to your cookware for serving.
Why does the Vapo Valve™ click as soon as I turn the heat on under a covered pan? Should I lower the heat at that time? The Vapo Valve™ is designed to click when the food or liquid inside the pan reaches approximately 187° F (86° C). Occasionally, slow clicking begins before the pan has been exposed to the heat long enough to reach that level. When that happens, proceed as you would without the premature click. The click should stop as the heat rises. Once the temperature hits approximately 187° F (86° C), the Vapo Valve™ will click again. This time, the click will be more rapid and insistent, and it is time to reduce the heat to low.
CLEAN AFTER EACH USE To maintain the attractive appearance and cooking efficiency of your cookware, it is important to clean after each use. Food films left on the cooking surface may cause the utensil to discolor when reheated. Do not allow fats or salts to remain in the utensil for prolonged periods. When washing utensils use a sponge, dishcloth, nylon net or plastic pad. Avoid using metal scouring pads or harsh scouring powders when cleaning utensil. We recommend that the knobs of the utensils be removed for cleaning occasionally, as grease and food particles can accumulate. Simply unscrew knobs, wash utensils and knobs, rinse and dry. Replace knobs
. KEEP YOUR COOKWARE LOOKING ITS BEST! Golden brown or blue heat tints may result from overheating. White spots may occur from minerals present in food or water. These temporary blemishes can be removed easily by following the procedure below. Rinse utensil with warm water. Create a paste-like mixture using a small amount of water and a non-abrasive stainless steel cleanser such as Surface Master by Saladmaster. DO NOT use a cleanser containing chlorine bleach. Apply paste with a sponge or cloth and rub lightly in a circular motion. Wash, rinse and dry. Note: Dishwasher cleaning will not completely remove heat or food films left on utensils. Remove films by following the directions above before dishwasher cleaning.
