BOOK: "A Reason For Living" - Written By: Julian "Jingles" Reynolds

It is natural to imagine what would have happened if a different action was taken at a certain point in history, what differences could be made, what stories could be told. This line of thinking has often been the sense of inspiration for fiction writers, and with this book, a fictitious tale that has some elements of reality about Jamaica will be explored.

Readers of the book titled “A Reason For Living” will be treated to a tale of political fiction taking place within Jamaica, where a civil war has ensued from the social and economic differences between the various classes of people within the nation, all of this while a dramatic scene unfolds that blurs the line between love and lust.

The author Julian Jingles, created the story with the idea of introducing Jamaican culture to a wider demography while providing a passionate and suspenseful narrative.

Those who have read the book have given nothing but positive comments about the complex narrative being portrayed during an era that was filled with civil rights movements, and cultural evolutions.

Copies are available on GoToPublish.com, Amazon, Barnes&Noble, and on the author’s website Fiwproductions.com with some minor variations to the prices.

Grab a copy now and be pulled into a fictional event in history filled with love, lust and suspense.

King Yellowman has an incredible history in Reggae music. His upbringing at the Maxfield Home orphanage in Kingston and being albino in Jamaica were two obstacles that he overcame and went on to be (at one time) the biggest reggae artist since Bob Marley.

After winning a talent contest at Tastee Patties in Kingston, Yellowman went on to excite reggae crowds all over Jamaica and the rest of the world with his boastful and sometimes bodacious lyrics. His ability to ride rhythm and excite a crowd made Yellowman an instant hit in Jamaica. He also began to work with the Ace Sound System in St. Thomas and drew big crowds at his dancehall performances. Later in his career, Yellowman began to spread out and work for a number of different producers, sometimes releasing as many as five albums per year. This led to a recording contract with CBS Records. Yellowman recorded one album with them before he was diagnosed with jaw cancer and was given six months to live. This was in 1986. After surgery, an extended leave of absence from the record industry, Yellowman began his comeback with the song "Blueberry Hill", and his career was re-launched. His first album for RAS came from producer Phillip 'Fatis' Burrell and was called "Yellow Like Cheese". Coincidentally this was the start of a long and fruitful relationship with RAS, Yellowman, RAS and also 'Fatis' and his exterminator production. Yellowman has always been very professional to work with and always a respectful and reliable human being. He has managed to outlive his predicted fate of death and his performances are incredibly lively as he seems to have an unlimited amount of stage energy. We can only hope for the best for Yellowman. He has continued his hard work and his devotion to his family is to be complimented.
Catch this rare and legendary performance on October 26th at Blu Nightclub!

Branch’s music is nothing like the new crossover/hip-hop style of reggae. It sounds more like the Marley-inspired tunes all the world has come to know and love...”
~ The Sunday Herald - Kingston, Jamaica

Championing the preservation of authentic roots reggae music and the timeless message of peace, love and unity, the album combines poignant lyrics, haunting melodies, sumptuous harmonies and hypnotic grooves with powerful horn lines, reminiscent of the golden age of reggae. Branch implores humanity to cling to life in a time of desperation with Floydian precision.

New Album - MEMBERS OF A NEW RACE - From RasMoses - "The Chanting Yogi"
This authentic roots reggae was produced by Harry Mo for Yellow Hill Records and is distributed by Rebel Sound Records.

It hits the digital streets on the eve of the
Ethiopian New Year 9.11.21.

This full-length album is a rallying call for all people to heed His Imperial Majesty's message that we must become something we have never been, that our environment, education and experience has
ill-prepared us, and we need to take courage and become Members of A New Race ~
not owing our allegiance to nations but to our family in the human community.

From start to finish, the album offers polished Rastafari rootz-reggae music backed by renowned international singers and players of instruments including Harry Mo on keyboards, rhythm guitar and back ground vocals, Erwin Bongo Bertrand, Jahsun Rhymer, and Roosevelt Ras Digital Paquette on drums, Derek Johnson and Lesterfari Simbarashe  on lead guitar, and Christina Well on background vocals.

Veteran musicians back RasMoses' unique Fyah Chant style and melodious flows riding one drop, steppahs, African, dance hall and hip hop rhythms.

New Song from Anthony Garvey - Soldier On
Roots reggae singer Anthony Garvey once recorded and performed under his surname alone, and did so in good conscience, given that his great-grandfather was Marcus Garvey, the most celebrated figure in all of reggae music save for Haile Selassie.

It appears the now fuller-named younger Garvey has only one previous album to his name despite the lineage of the name, so the title of his latest seems a fitting description of what he’s done to bring his music to the world. Having previously sung alongside the likes of Kiddus I and had his music mixed by Scientist, Garvey has been blessed with the kind of good company that pointed him in the right direction as well.

Soldier On is uncompromising roots music, with Garvey’s gruffly melodic, half-chanted vocals rising and falling with the riddims while he throws light from a fire of burning issues.

“Justice” cries out on behalf of those who need that very thing, the militancy of the title track is further bolstered by “Jah Warrior Soldier,” the Creator is praised by many names on “Hail Him” and the sidestep into lover’s rock that is “Just a little Bit” shows Garvey able to dig deep even when the roots are the sweeter kind. A nicely crackling band is responsible for the music and the harmonies that Garvey touches down in, and a helping of mixing, mastering and versioning by the venerable Jim Fox further assures that nothing but real reggae is what you’ll get here. And you should get it. –Tom Orr/Legacy Music Productions
