The Seal Of My Soul -  A Collection of Poems by General Smiley
Checking in with General Smiley:
Right after I graduated high school I volunteered to do the national youth service as a teacher, teaching in a service called ”into the light “ or “ Jamal “ this was an adult learning program then so I was teaching adults some of the subjects I learned in high school. I was doing this for a while before I realized the restrictions of the curriculum, I found out that there was not much I could expand on because of the time given to do so and I felt frustrated and clustered inside because there were so much more I wanted to say and that was when I started jotting down the way I felt and some things I wanted to say.
When I go home in the evenings I would think a lot about what I wanted to say to the people but can’t. I kept this inside for two years, the time required to fulfill that voluntary services but just before my time was up the ministry of education sent me an invitation to attend teacher’s college tuition-free but I turned it down and went on to study bookkeeping and accounting instead at the Jamaica Commercial Institute, so while going to school I formed a club so we could promote social events inside the school among the classes and that was when I started reciting some of the poems I was writing as lyrics to songs.
Ultimately after years of writing and performing some of these writings and the encouragement of some of my producers and life on a whole keep changing I decided to publish this poetry to share with the world my more that I’ve always wanted and still do want to say.

 ~Released via GRW Records
~Distributed by VP Records
Inspired by the vibrations of urban life, GRW and JUNIOR TOOTS [the son of legendary Toots & The Maytals singer, Toots Hibbert] new single "HEART OF THE CITY" is the follow up to their innovative "GREEN LIGHTS" collaboration [2020], and a perfect blend of Reggae, Country Rock, Soul and Hip Hop flavors.
GRW and young  Brooklyn artist/producer Harris MacDonald once again push the boundaries of popular music.
GRW describes the collab: "Junior TOOTS and I work so well together we seem to lift each other higher and higher into new dimensions — and we still haven't even met face to face yet! Junior and I are just trying to raise the frequency and sing about what it means to be human."
Junior Toots is more to the point: "What is happening in
The Heart Of The City is a reflection of what is happening in the heart of humanity. Love is the best you can give!!
Love is the best you can receive."
GRW [Grow without the O] is a genre outlaw...His musical creations refuse to be boxed in solely by one genre’s definition. GRW is Gary Russell Wertz: Songcrafter, Performer, Multi-Instrumentalist and Producer hailing from Sacred Dog Studios in Mendocino, CA and transplanted

GRW’s music can be described as “World Fusion” as he incorporates elements of global sound into many of his productions. For example, in 2020 he released two Alt Country/Reggae Fusion Tracks: “Green Lights” ft. Junior Toots. CLICK HERE TO LISTEN

High Praise for I-Nezi’s Pain And Pleasure EP
Jamaican singer/songwriter, I-Nezi who is best known for singing hard-hitting tracks cleverly switched mode on his first official EP under the management of Global Beat Studios. Tracks such as African Proverbs which first caught the attention of British DJ David Rodigan earlier this year, Rise and Sorry Fah produced by Addis Record, Roots and Culture produced by Teflon Zincfence and Straight Away produced by New Vision One Records solidifies I-Nezi entry in the Jamaican music industry as a promising roots/reggae artist.

The usually soft spoken, conscious, and riveting reggae entertainer choose to reveal his most vulnerable side throughout Pain and Pleasure EP with soothing vocals, clarity, range, and excellent production. I-Nezi’s willingness to channel his emotions this way resulted in high praises from a DJ listening party that clearly expects great achievement for him in the future. Here’s how some of the DJs felt after listening: David Rodigan MBE, OD. "I have downloaded all of the vocal tracks because the entire project is so refreshing and original both lyrically and rhythmically. The production work is first class. I-Nezi possesses an amazing voice, a rare sound with beautiful clarity and I will be very happy to proceed with playing the songs."

British DJ Daddy English - "Pain and Pleasure EP seem to be a real introduction to I-Nezi and it’s preparing me for what I can look forward to in the future…"I'm a geek for a good snare and the snare on this track takes me back to the 90s... big up the producers!" Daddy English plays on the Reggae in The City Podcast and is the owner of Benevolent International Sound.

The Bridge 99 FM Cross Over show host Nikki Z said, "It's the song, Skatter Me that drew me to this artist...he has a unique sound that has the potential to be a dynamic force in the reggae industry."

"Get used to this name, I-Nezi!" DJ Ramona Samuels encouraged her listeners on Riddim FM 102.1 broadcasting live out of Montego Bay. She further stated "I enjoyed Inezi's EP very much. I love playing his songs for my radio family as well, it amplifies my mood in connecting with the listeners. His voice and lyrics definitely have that crossover appeal."

Vibe 105FM DJ Wizology said, ".. what a voice! This artist has a voice that gave me an original Jamaican feeling with a Sting (the artist) like appeal. He flowed so smoothly over these rhythms. Fine Wine and Skatter Me caught my attention …. I-Nezi is a voice for the world to hear…Congratulations to Global Beat Studios you have a world artist on your team."

Pain and Pleasure EP by I-Nezi is available on all digital platforms with six (6) supporting videos including I-Nezi’s live performance at his EP Launch held in Kingston recently streaming on INEZIVEVO
