DRE ISLAND ANNOUNCES SOPHOMORE ALBUM HIGH TIMES
|
The multi-talented Jamaican artist Dre Island sets course to elevate mind, body, and soul on his upcoming sophomore album High Times, via DubShot Records. Following his 2020 debut Now I Rise, the eight-track LP is a steady burn through life’s most precious moments.
The album is available:
https://ingrv.es/high-times-ao2-5
The singer, songwriter and producer unleashes the album’s new carefree bop “All Night” feat. Carlio. In its accompanying video (directed by 300k), Dre and Carlio reach euphoric heights with their love interests as they galavant through a magical forest ride.
“ ‘All Night’ is about good times and vibes with your loved ones, friends and family, especially coming out of this restricted time frame because of the pandemic. Now we can go back out in the night and party from 10pm until 6am,” Dre Island proclaims.
Watch “All Night” video: https://youtu.be/cCmEBQzpbSk
Dre Island continues to enhance his high, whether it is through love or cannabis, in this nuanced song collection. The album’s title track featuring dancehall prodigy Skillibeng is a straightforward celebration of simple pleasures—papers and good kush—paired to the sounds of swirling key chords and a thick trap bassline produced by Jafrass.
As the album progresses, Dre Island shifts to the upbeat tempo of contemporary tropical dance music on “High With You,” a classic tongue-in-cheek weed anthem alluding that the plant is a close friend. A video for “High With You” is set to be released with the album. “Take Me High” is a slower, more contemplative ode to ganja that reworks Louis Armstrong’s lyrics about “trees of green” into the more smokeable type. Roots reggae legend Richie Spice links up with Dre Island on “High Grade Smoke,” produced by Jamie Roberts. “With a vision so clear, meditation pure, so don’t partake if you’re not really sure,” flows Dre Island as he extols the virtues of the herb, capping it off with a warning label for responsible use only. Other producers on High Times include Kushface, Green Lion Crew, Che Big 12, Zimi, TJ Records and Tac Dem.
Dre explains in greater detail the inspiration behind the album: "It's about living life to the best of its ability, ya nuh, appreciating nature in its purest form. Where the herbs, marijuana is concerned, that is the first inspiration that led me to the whole thought of the album High Times. Just appreciating yourself as a person, as a human being. Just note to self, motivate yourself and stay in that high moment with that high energy with that high soul...each of the 8 tracks speaks individually to different moments of being high, or getting high, or living high...Every single one of the 8 tracks are about MARIJUANA, nothing else but MARIJUANA."
Dre Island’s High Times Summer Tour will pull up to select cities throughout July and August. Dates to be announced at a later date.

VIBES POINT MUSIC & GROOVE IT PRESENT “TREAT FOR THE DAY” SINGLE & VIDEO BY PIERODREAD
|
SONG LINK - Click Here for All Platforms
“Treat for the day” is the title of PieroDread’s latest single, out June 04th 2022 for Piesse Groove Records. The lyrics show a segment of our day-to-day life over the past two years, when our habits changed radically. The video, filmed in a new theatre in Rho, near Milan, Italy, shows the contradictions of a world too focused on excesses of a minority, rather than on the sense of community. The visuals are a tribute to the visual artist Ugur Gallenkus and his exhibition “Parallel Universes”.
The concept of the project is to encourage us to consider how we treat ourselves at the end of the day, what our habits mean, and the what changes we can, and want to bring, to our everyday life. Produced by Piesse Groove Records, published by Groove It Srl.

Trumpet” is a dirge for the many innocent lives that have been lost due to gun violence and it is also a Warmony (harmony for war) against the dark spiritual forces of the world! In “Trumpet”, Xedous combines the word of Jah with his own-style of praise and worship to combat the essence of evil in high and low places!
Released via Issachar Muzik and Distributed by Tuff Gong International Produced by Tansa Daniel Artwork by the very talented Ras Zakarias
Xedous is a Humboldt-based reggae artist who has been recording and performing in the area since 2012. When he released his first album " Jah Open Me Door" produced by Ras Batch! His second album "Powers of the Most High'' produced by Andrew "Bassie" Campbell was released in 2015 and featured several riddims from the Midnite album "Kings Bell"also produced by Campbell. The principal riddim shared between the two albums would be the "Mongst I&I" Riddim, the title of the hit single written by Vaughn Benjamin, which featured the legendary artist's very first music video! Honored by the opportunity to use these riddims, Xedous wrote a song called " You Can Do Anything." The album released by Xedous also had songs featuring Ras Attitude and Warrior King! Over the years in Humboldt, Xedous has opened for many artists including Warrior King, Lutan Fyah, Army, Don Carlos, Midnite, and the legendary Mighty Diamonds ( May the last two rest in the cosmic bosom of The Creator forevermore!) His 2021 releases include "Ancient" with Dub Propulsion Records, "Deeper" with More Life Productions and his very own EP STEADFAST. His upcoming releases include "Prophecy" via Dub Propulsion, a new EP titled "Faithful and True" and "Trumpet" via Issachar Muzik Isaiah 16:5: When the oppressor is no more and destruction has ceased and he who tramples underfoot has vanished from the land then a throne will be established in steadfast love, and on it will sit in faithfulness in the tent of David one who judges and seeks justice and is swift to do righteousness! Isaiah 18:3: All you inhabitants of the world you who dwell on earth when a signal is raised on the mountains Look! It will make us very sad if you do, and perhaps your removal will be the one the makes us decide this no longer worth doing at all, and all the information we provide will go away forever and musicians will sit home alone at night and cry because they have no one to play for because no one knows about their shows or music.
