UB40 are an English reggae and pop band, formed in December 1978 in Birmingham, England. The band has had more than 50 singles in the UK Singles Chart, and has also achieved considerable international success. They have been nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Reggae Album four times, and in 1984 were nominated for the Brit Award for Best British Group. UB40 have sold over 70 million records worldwide.

With massive hits like “Red Red Wine” and “Can’t Help Falling in Love With You,” UB40 became one of the biggest names not only in reggae but in pop music in the 1980s and ’90s. The name "UB40" was selected in reference to an attendance card issued to people claiming unemployment benefits from the UK government Department of Employment. The designation UB40 stood for Unemployment Benefit, Form 40.

The Wailers rewrote the history books as Bob Marley’s band, and today under leader Al Anderson, they carry the flame for the past and light the way forward. Both The Wailers and UB40 are credited to the world-wide attention and success of the genre of Reggae Music as a whole.

Maxi Priest scored huge hits like “Close to You” by bringing together the sounds of reggae with R&B, while Big Mountain’s cover of “Baby, I Love Your Way” brought their sun-soaked sound to the masses.

Big Mountain is a world renowned American reggae band known for its remake of Peter Frampton's "Baby, I Love Your Way", which became a top 10 hit single in the US in early 1994, reaching # 6 on the US Billboard Hot 100, #1 on the Mainstream Top 40 and # 2 in the UK

Cougar Mountain Farm in Cottage Grove, Oregon is celebrating its 50th anniversary as an intentional off-grid communal homestead just 20 minutes south of Eugene, Oregon. For 50 years this family farm has interacted with the community through hosting retreats, weddings, yoga, sustainable living education, camps, workshops, and international events on the beautiful, private 320-acre mountain top destination.

“This year we are extremely honored to be hosting Thomas Mapfumo the Lion of Zimbabwe, Keith Porter and the Itals, Kenyatta Culture Hill, and the Reggae Angels, all of which are supported by up-and-coming artists and established local legends”, says promoter Noah Wemple.
Check the poster for full lineup. Additionally, there are six speakers for the Earth Vision Summit to open the show. These include the internationally recognized CBD speaker, Adam Jacques, legendary Merry Prankster Ken Babbs, off-grid renewable energy systems, and local progressive retired politician Bill Dwyer, and more.

ROMAIN VIRGO - Major coast to coast US tour August / September 2022.

ROMAIN VIRGO - PERFORMING ON THE GRACE JERK FEST IN NYC, THE REGGAE GEEL IN BELGIUM AND THE ADAMARI JERK FEST IN LOS ANGELES, CA - TOURING THE US COAST TO COAST AUGUST / SEPTEMBER 2022

Reggae star Romain Virgo is one of the genre’s foremost crooner’s.  The artists lyrical and sonic style is suited for the tastes of music lovers who relish in a great love story being told.  Fans have described his audio swagger as ‘Marvin Gaye with a Reggae / Dancehall vibe.’

Born in a small district called Stepney in the parish of St. Ann, Romain Virgo was raised in a Christian family who made singing a central theme in their home.  Singing together each Saturday night and recording their voices on cassettes allowed them to play the recording back on Sunday morning for their church audience.  Several church members took notice.  “I never took it serious,” he reflected, “I said it is just people in the community that want to build my confidence. When I was about 10, I had the microphone and I was singing “Amazing Grace” in church because I like the sound of the echo there and everybody was saying whoa, you can really sing. Then I started to take it seriously.”

Romain has released three albums to date; ‘Romain Virgo’ (2010), ‘The System’ (2012) and ‘Love Sick’ (2018) as well as nineteen singles including his hits “Soul Provider,” “Stronger,” “Beautiful To Me” and “Star Across The Sky.”  His music has been streamed more than 57.2 Million times on YouTube, 4.5 Million times on Spotify and 24.2 Million streams on Pandora.  He is ranked in the top 100 most popular artists from Jamaica and receives radio play worldwide in including key markets The United States, The UK, The Caribbean and Canada.

Romain Virgo’s live performances have been a point of interest for fans.  He has toured Africa, Canada, The United States and the U.K making him one of the most requested artists.  His YouTube channel features his self-produced online series ‘The Virgo’s’ that showcases life in the hectic Virgo household.

His newest single “Good Woman” is an energetic feel-great song that celebrates the joy a man feels when he finds the right woman to compliment his life.  Produced by Niko Browne, DJ Densen and MLND, the song is distributed by VP Records.

For more than forty years, Mykal Rose has been recording and performing his brand of militant, hardcore Jamaican reggae to the delight of fans around the world. Mykal was the lead vocalist of Black Uhuru from 1977 to 1985 with the original lineup including Sly & Robbie, Duckie Simpson and Puma Jones. Black Uhuru quickly rose to great popularity and fame worldwide in the wake of Bob Marley and Peter Tosh. One of roots-reggae’s distinct voices, Mykal Rose helped define the Waterhouse sound. His lead vocals can be heard on Black Uhuru hits such as Guess Who's Coming to Dinner, Shine Eye Gal, Plastic Smile, What is Life and General Penitentiary. Mykal was the lead singer on Anthem, the Black Uhuru album backed by Sly and Robbie that won the first reggae Grammy in 1984. As a solo artist, with Black Uhuru, and back as a solo artist, Mykal has maintained consistent success throughout the years. June, July 2019 he completed a five week tour that spanned the US headlining five festivals backed by Sly Dunbar & Lloyd Parks. Prior to that tour, Mykal with Sly & Robbie headlined the Jamrock Reggae Cruise.

Mykal Rose made a flying start to 2022 with a song called 'Glory to Jah' which he recorded for an independent American label called Big Feet Records. 'Glory to Jah' was number one on the Foundation Radio Network Chart in New York for over 3 weeks. Mykal also topped the charts in Jamaica in 2007, with ShootOut (Police and Thieves) produced by John John Records.

In the last ten years Mykal has been unusually prolific.  His latest studio album release is called Ska Ska Ska (2019). This album received much acclaim worldwide. Along with the album there is a video release called Everybody Gone Ska. The album release that came out before that is called Healing of the Nations (2018). This project was produced in California. The album before that is called Strategy of Rome (2017). This album was produced in Europe. Before that he released Rasta State in 2016. Also released in 2016 was the album Sidewalk Steppa produced by Foreign Key Records in the US. A single of Sidewalk Steppa was also released at the same time. Mykal also put out a popular single in collaboration with Melloquence and Cutty Ranks called Hot Water. Hot Water was produced by Pascal who is based in Germany. He released a single collaboration with Al Barose called Want the Herb.

Worldwide, Mykal Rose is a household name. He continues to headline many of the best reggae festivals in the world and he has been touring North America and Europe steadily. Mykal is an exceptionally talented vocalist and performer. He has an original style and sound that was quickly embraced by fans and music lovers. Mykal is the favored voice of Black Uhuru, with his Waterhouse slurs, effective songwriting, militant dancing and vocals.
