Sgt. Remo Releases 2nd Studio Album - Jah Neva Leave
Click Bandcamp Link Here to Listen & Enjoy

San Antonio, TX -- Sgt. Remo caps off a spectacular 2022 with the release of his second studio album Jah Neva Leave.

The 10-track album features collaborations with reggae greats Lutan Fyah, Chezidek, and Ranking Joe. On the production side, Remo worked with The Vibratones, McPullish, Kutral Dub, The San Antones, and Quality Seal Entertainment.

The album includes a good balance of roots reggae, steppers, dancehall, and dub. While Remo’s lyrical ability is on full display throughout, his singing (Sweet Reggae Music, Jah Neva Leave) is a welcome addition to his singular sound.

The album is available on 12" vinyl (Bandcamp) and digital platforms everywhere on Tuesday, September 20, 2022.

“I hope that when people check the album, they can listen from the first song all the way to the end without ever wanting to skip any of the songs. That’s what I aspired to achieve.”

The album starts with the heavy roots song Sweet Reggae Music, then changes the pace with Jah Neva Leave, a Jamaican steppers riddim with a sticky-like-glue chorus and fiery lyrics. Highlights of the album include the big collabs with Ranking Joe, Lutan Fyah and Chezidek. Delivery Service feat. Ranking Joe and Kutral Dub and Roots Rock Reggae with Lutan Fyah and McPullish were pre-released to an exceptional response, not just in the U.S., but also in France, Germany, and Mexico.

Sgt. Remo entered the reggae scene in 2012 with his debut EP Life is for Living. During these ten years Remo has cemented his name in the global reggae landscape with a slew of notable singles including Delivery Service, Just Getting Started, Marie and others. The multi-talented artist is also the mastermind behind King Remo Sound System; San Antonio, TX's first custom sound system. Remo also operates Jah Yute Ent. and Amaru Melchizedek Publishing which are responsible for the majority of Sgt. Remo's catalog, including the 4-album compilation series Reggae SoulJahs Worldwide (2011-2021).

California band ends Marley’s 140-week reign on Billboard Reggae Albums chart
King of Reggae Bob Marley is no longer number one on the Billboard Reggae Albums Chart. After holding on to pole position for a staggering, unbroken two years and seven months, the album Legend: The Best of Bob Marley and the Wailers has relinquished its top slot.

The new title holder is not a Jamaican singer nor group, it is Californian reggae band Stick Figure with their new album, Wisdom.

Stick Figure is among the reggae bands from California which have been stirring it up. In addition to grabbing the top spot on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart, Wisdom is number one on iTunes Reggae Albums chart, and the group has all of four albums in that top 10. Stick Figure’s album World on Fire sits at number four, Set in Stone is at number five, and Burial Ground claims the number 10 slot.

EUROPEAN SUMMER TOUR INCLUDED HEADLINING FESTIVALS IN LONDON AND SCOTLAND; GUEST APPEARANCE AT ROTOTOM IN SPAIN SEPTEMBER 2022

(Los Angeles, CA) GRAMMY® nominated musician and dancehall legend Tippa Irie will release his first full-length studio album
in six years, “I’m An African”, on September 15, 2022.

The 16-track album features several well-known artists, and draws inspiration from his family’s roots in Africa and Jamaica. The London-born MC reflects on the historical significance of his past in this highly anticipated 18th career album, while highlighting the impact of and lessons learned from current day events. This broad collection of music moves between serious socio-political conversation and going to the dancehall to simply celebrate life.

Understanding where we come from and how that influences our life decisions is just as important as being able to sit back, relax and just have some fun,” says Tippa.

These last 3 years have been a challenge for everyone, and I wanted to create something to help people forget about their troubles without ignoring what’s actually happening in the world.

The title track “I’m An African” pays homage to leaders from around the world including Malcom X and Bob Marley highlighting their struggles that paved the way for People of Color while also celebrating the positive aspects of life he has experienced as a Black man in the UK.

The album effortlessly weaves its way through hysterical travel encounters on the bus in Jamaica via “Minibus Man” to urging people to treat each other with love and respect in “Got To Do Better.” Dancehall anthems “Hey Girl” and “Hot Like Fire” keep the pace high while “Live the Life I Love” slows it down near the end and reminds us to enjoy the simple things in life.

Tippa gives respect to the younger generation of talent in “Talk Like Koffee”, and the album closes with a recently released single called “Di Ting (The Thing)” bringing forth a thought-provoking discussion about recent events and the
state of the world.

This is Tippa’s first full-length studio album in six years. It is being released on the heels of a European Summer tour which included capacity crowds with stops at Edinburgh Jazz and Blues Fest, Lewisham People’s Day Festival in London, and Rototom in Spain, among others.

“I’m An African" can be bought or streamed on all major online streaming platforms as of September 15, 2022.

SMARTLINK - Click HERE to Stream

A video for the title track will also be released on the same day premiering on Tippa’s facebook page. In early 2023, Tippa’s autobiography “It’s Good To Have the Feeling You’re The Best” titled after his hit single of the same name from the 1980s, will be released. The memoir covers the past 40 years of his prestigious career. It is currently available for preorder and will be released through Jacaranda books. Tippa’s autobiography is a life story of big dreams, hopes and music, but also profound traumas and tribulations that Tippa experienced throughout his life, and how music helped him to move forward and achieve successes beyond what he ever imagined was possible.

About Tippa Irie Tippa Irie released his first album “Is It Really Happening to Me” in 1986. He has had several #1 hits in the UK and around the world including Hello Darling, Raggamuffin Girl and Superwoman.

In 2005, Tippa was nominated for a GRAMMY® for Best Rap Song for a tune he wrote with Will.I.Am of the Black Eyed Peas called “Hey Mama.” Tippa has toured the world extensively and continues to perform for capacity crowds on every continent. Over the years, he has collaborated with countless artists and has maintained a consistent stream of new releases. He continues to delight fans wherever he performs with his fast-talking style
and high energy shows.

"The Lost In Time Tour" featuring Protoje, Jesse Royal and Lila Ike, live at Virginia St. Brewhouse in Downtown Reno, NV. ca to singer Lorna Bennett and former calypso king Mike Ollivierre, Protoje blends hip hop, soul and jazz into his native sounds of reggae and dancehall. The musical prodigy, along with a collective of fellow artists, began getting mainstream attention for their addictive melodies and conscious lyrical messages in a movement dubbed the “reggae revival.”

His catalog consists of the following studio albums: Seven Year Itch (2011), The 8 Year Affair (2013), Ancient Future (2015) and A Matter Of Time (2018) and In Search Of Lost Time (2020). As a producer, he receives a co-credit for Rock & Groove Riddim (2019). His studio album A Matter Of Time earned him a GRAMMY nomination for Best Reggae Album and his national U.S. TV performance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, both in 2019. He has toured with Ms. Lauryn Hill and appeared on major festivals including Coachella (US), Glastonbury (UK), Afropunk (US), Reading & Leeds (UK), Sole DXB (Dubai) and Lollapalooza (Chile), reaching audiences far and wide with his genre-fusing sound.

Under the RCA deal, Protoje brokered individual album deals for himself as well as rising female artists Lila Iké, Sevana and Jaz Elise. He has received praise from the likes of NYLON and Uproxx for In.Digg.Nation Collective’s forward-thinking sound. He performed on NPR Tiny Desk and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert #PlayAtHome and graced one of i-D magazine’s digital covers for Spring 2021. In 2022, Protoje will release his 6th studio album. Catch him live one night only in Reno, NV on September 30th!
