20th Annual Blues Festival Guide
We continue to stay optimistic!
Fair Use Act Disclaimer
Why March is Women's History Month? Well, why not?!
What's cookin? Well, undoubtably a woman somewhere and not just in the kitchen! Yeah baby!

Go checkout the fabulous blues women in your community! I bet you'll find that there's much more than what meets the eye.

There's passion, sadness, life-experience, fire, revenge, humor. Sure, you can say that about many male artists... but we're not talking about them now are we! HA! Okay, just a little sass there, settle down.

But seriously, women bring a different angst as well as wry wit to the blues picture. You can't tell me that some of these women don't literally bring you to your knees. It's not always an easy road for a women in the biz either so there's also fortitude involved, too.

Celebrate the women of the world! And while yu're at it, hug your mama, sister, daughter, gramma, aunt, wife, girlfriend, baby mama ...you get the picture!

Your grateful e-Editor aka "Queen of Steam",
Michele Lundeen

Teresa James :: WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM HER FRIENDS
The Beatles songbook has been interpreted and reimagined in a multitude of ways, transforming the British invasion pop into big band jazz, bluegrass, funk, techno, classical and opera. For their own deep dive, Texas-born and Los Angeles based keyboardist, Teresa James, and her band, the Rhythm Tramps, take the music of the Fab Four on a coast-to-coast magical music tour. Produced by Terry Wilson and Kevin McKendree, With A Little Help From Her Friends, is a loving tribute to the songs of The Beatles and the musical styles of the great American landscape of blues, roots, and soul. Along with her partner, Terry Wilson, James recruited two new “Tramps” to join them on this journey, the acclaimed producer and keyboardist Kevin McKendree and drummer Richard Millsap, along with backing vocalists Lucy Wilson and Nicki Bluhm and a special appearance from rising star Yates McKendree.

The ten-track collection opens with “Ticket To Ride,” then follows with “Taxman,” “Don’t Let Me Down” (credited to "The Beatles with Billy Preston); “Happy Just to Dance With You,” “Oh Darlin’,” “You’ve Got To Hide Your Love Away,” “Everybody’s Got Something To Hide Except Me And My Monkey,” “You Won’t See Me” in 1965; “No Reply,” and “Think For Yourself,” closes out the set.

Regarded as the most influential band of all time, the music of The Beatles has been with us for 60 years. Veteran musicians Teresa James and the Rhythm Tramps have undoubtably felt that influence in their lives and share their affection with the world on this brilliant new project that her fans and Beatles fans will love.
