Venice Beach Dub Club Announces Genre-Defying Second Album VBDC II: Time Marches On - OUT NOW!
Venice Beach Dub Club (VBDC) is back with their most ambitious and sonically expansive project to date: VBDC II: Time Marches On. The newly released album builds on the band’s reputation for soulful storytelling, blending reggae roots with bold experimentation across genres including punk, blues, country, and even electronic.

LISTEN HERE

Fronted by singer and songwriter Seth Caro, VBDC enters a new creative era with this second full-length project. Caro, known for his emotionally raw and philosophically driven lyrics, has spent the past three years carefully crafting each track with long-time collaborators Gary “Big G” Larason (lead guitar/producer) and Benji Hamlin (bass).

The result: a body of work that’s both cohesive and wildly eclectic anchored by lived experience and lyrical depth. “This isn’t just an album - it’s a reflection of personal growth, hard truths, and creative freedom,” says Caro. “We didn’t set out to chase a trend or sound like anyone else. These songs came from taking time to think, to question, to evolve.”

The first two singles from the album are already creating buzz. “Stay Cool” is a breezy, modern take on classic dancehall, the kind of summer anthem made for long drives and late sunsets.

“Find Out” flips the vibe entirely, bringing underground hip-hop legend Dizzy Dustin (of Ugly Duckling) into the fold for a surprise collaboration that blends smooth rhythm with sharp verses.

Featuring incredible artists such as Marlon Asher, Keith Murray, Simpkin Project, Dizzy Dustin, Chicano Rock and Konker Spliff, Time Marches On is a true genre-dissolving labor of love from VBDC. Each artist adding unique energy to a record that refuses to sit still. From layered harmonies to Daft Punk-inspired synth textures, the album experiments without losing its soul.

Lyrically, VBDC II: Time Marches On explores identity, consequences, and the quiet weight of everyday decisions. The title track itself is a meditation on how even the smallest choices can ripple over time - echoing Caro’s introspective songwriting style. Known for taking years to finish some verses, Caro’s commitment to honesty over speed is central to the album’s voice.

VBDC first broke out with “Jah Rx” in 2018 and has since built a fiercely loyal fanbase drawn to the band’s mix of musicality and message. Their previous EP and 2022 album, featuring the chart-topping single “Purebloods,” established VBDC as a bold, independent voice in the reggae scene - unafraid to tackle difficult topics with conviction. Fans can look forward to The Red Eye Remix of “Jah Rx,” featuring Keith Murray, which is included on this album, with the music video dropping September 19, 2025!

As the world continues to shift, VBDC II: Time Marches On is a timely reminder that meaningful music still has a place - and power.

“Lyrics matter. Substance matters,” adds Caro. “We want every song to stand alone and still say something real.” The album is available on all major streaming platforms or visit the site at http://vbdcmusic.com/.

Una Morgan Returns To Morgan Heritage After Long Hiatus
After nearly a decade away from the stage, Una Morgan has officially rejoined the Grammy Award-winning reggae group Morgan Heritage. The singer, affectionately known as the “Empress” of the group, stepped away in 2016, citing serious health challenges that forced her to pause her career.“Well, the initial break was taken due to a medical emergency that I had that involve my thyroid and that issue lead to other issues which included my heart,” Una explained.

“With all that happened, I took it as a sign by the MOST HIGH, IT WAS TIME FOR ME TO CHILL OUT, NOT ONLY FOR MYSELF, BUT TO GET CLOSER TO HIM.”During her time away, Una focused on her faith, her health, and new creative and business ventures.“Firstly, I continued to build a more intimate relationship with our creator. Then, while on this journey, I began working on completing my solo album, which by the way is almost done! And, also started a new business in commodities. It was time that was well needed, and now I understand even more the way and why it was needed,” she said.

Her return, however, has been bittersweet. She rejoined Morgan Heritage in April 2024 for a show in Barbados—just four months after the passing of her brother and fellow band member, Peter “Peetah” Morgan. “I returned last year April, for a show that was already booked in Barbados, four months after my brother Peter had transitioned,” Una recalled.

“It was absolutely one of the hardest things to do ever in my life, going through the process of being on stage for the first time in years without my brother, showed me that the strength that was built in me over the time that I was on hiatus, had really been solidified, or I truly could not return, especially after such a major major shift in our lives. Not only as a family, but also as a business entity.”

Still, Una’s return is being celebrated by reggae fans worldwide, who have long admired her angelic vocals and empowering presence within the group. “Before I start, I just want to say thank you so much for all the support you all have given us over the years,” she said with gratitude. “It’s a blessing to still be loved by everyone in the way that you all still love and support us. I’ve been on hiatus from the group now since 2016. It has been a while, but happy to be back doing what I love.”

Morgan Heritage is known for hits like Down by the River, Don’t Haffi Dread, She’s Still Loving Me, and several other recordings.

“Collie herb man mixed with the sound system,
Me got some good karma; it’s good marijuana,
Come share with me” – Katchafire

Māori roots reggae legends Katchafire drop their "Collie Herb Man (Revival 2.0)” single (29 August), in the leadup to releasing the remixed & remastered REVIVAL 2.0 album on 9 January 2026.

Stream or Watch “Collie Herb Man (Revival 2.0)”

“Collie Herb Man” remains one of Katchafire’s most popular songs, known for its feel-good vibes and laid-back-grooves; singer Logan Bell’s opening phrase “Come on” never fails to give ‘Fire fans an instant contact high.

The band are getting on the plane again for upcoming tour dates in USA in September, Australia in November, and New Zealand dates with UB40 in 2026.

For fans of reggae-infused rock, few bands have captured the essence of global unity and pride quite like Katchafire. Renowned as trailblazers of Māori music, their soulful melodies and powerful lyrics have resonated across continents, bringing together audiences from diverse backgrounds. With a career spanning decades, Katchafire’s commitment to celebrating whānau and roots remains at the core of their artistry, an ethos that drives every note and every performance.

“Originally recorded around 2000, the ‘Revival’ album was the band’s first time together in a studio, our first time tracking and mixing and they weren’t as hands-on as they are now with the process. We felt that certain aspect of the finished album left us wanting, so remixing the album is something we’ve always talked about. Twenty-three years on we got the chance, and it was really fun to hear the original studio performances. They still stand up today and it made me feel real proud of those early recordings and the OG team”, Katchafire singer and founding member Logan Bell said.

ABOUT HOLO HOLO MUSIC FESTIVAL

Holo Holo Music Festival was born from a love of island and reggae music—a genre deeply rooted in connection, culture, and movement. The festival first set sail in 2022 at Frost Amphitheater at Stanford University, bringing together fans to celebrate the vibrant sounds of the islands. With the spirit of holo holo—meaning "to travel, to sail, to move"—the event quickly expanded, reaching new shores in Las Vegas and Sacramento in 2023. By 2024, its journey continued with a highly anticipated stop in San Diego.

Now, in 2025, we’re excited to take Holo Holo even further, bringing the music and community to Oceanside, Las Vegas, Sacramento, Tacoma, and San Diego! As we continue to move and grow, the festival remains a space for connection—where fans can gather for two days of unforgettable performances, incredible food, and the shared love of island and reggae music.

For Good Vibez Presents co-owner Dan Sheehan, Holo Holo is more than just a festival—it’s a reflection of his roots. “Growing up in Ewa Beach, O‘ahu, island music and reggae were the soundtracks of my childhood. These styles—the heartbeat of the islands—are the backbone of my work as a festival producer and venue owner. A big part of Good Vibez Presents is about discovery, and I’m honored to showcase and celebrate these artists at Holo Holo Festivals.”

For over 25 years, Good Vibez Presents has produced hundreds of immersive, multidimensional concerts and festivals across the West Coast, Hawaii, Arizona, North Carolina, and Mexico. They are the driving force behind the California Roots Music & Arts Festival in Monterey, the largest reggae-rock festival in the country. With a deep commitment to supporting nonprofits, small businesses, and creatives, Good Vibez Presents continues to build events that foster community, uplift artists, and spread positivity.

Holo Holo Music Festival is more than just a gathering—it’s a journey. Enjoy a weekend of incredible music and good vibes! Choose the Holo Holo that is right for you!
