73 albums have been submitted for Grammy consideration
|
The 2026 Grammy season has officially launched, and reggae fans and industry watchers will want to keep a close eye on the Best Reggae Album category. In what looks set to be a competitive year, a total of 73 albums have been submitted for consideration in the reggae field indicating a slight fall off from last year’s 75 entries.
This year’s roster features a strong showing from Jamaican artists, with names spanning the reggae and dancehall musical sets. Among the submissions are Vybz Kartel’s Heart & Soul, Likkle Addi’s Time Is Now, Lila Iké’s Treasure Self Love, 450’s Pieces of Me, Valiant’s Prove Them Wrong, Charly Black’s Good Times, Cham’s Sherlock, and Ding Dong’s From Ding Dong to the World.
Notably, the field also includes an AI-assisted project: Dem Can’t Stop My Joy (Rastafari Forever) by Adrian Donsome Hanson and Forever Roots Band, this is the first known album in this submission list to incorporate AI support in its creation although “AI-assisted” is still a developing label. This nod points to expanding definitions of artistry in reggae and could spark debate among voters and fans alike.
The first round of voting opened on October 3, 2025, and will run through October 15. During this phase, eligible Recording Academy voters will cast ballots to select the official nominees in each category. The slate of nominees is scheduled to be announced on November 7, 2025. Those nominees then face a second round of voting from December 12, 2025, to January 5, 2026 before the winners are revealed at the Grammy ceremony on February 1, 2026.

New Single by RAS ATTITUDE “LIGHTUP" Featuring Akae Beka – Produced by Jordan “Iaahden” Jones Released August 2025 – Available on all major platforms
LISTEN / DOWNLOAD HERE
Ras Attitude returns with “Light Up,” a powerful roots anthem celebrating the sacred herb, featuring the eternal voice of Akae Beka (Vaughn Benjamin) and produced by the late Jordan “Iaahden” Jones.
Released August 2025, the single uplifts cannabis not only as a plant, but as a divine gift for meditation, healing, and higher consciousness. “This is more than a ganja tune,” says Ras Attitude. “It’s about praising the Most High for this holy herb that brings healing to nations and guidance to the soul. Vaughn and Iaahden helped make this message timeless.” “Light Up” continues the Virgin Islands’ tradition of roots reggae that reveres cannabis as sacramental, medicinal, and revolutionary. It’s both a tribute to Akae Beka and Iaahden, and a call to keep the flame of enlightenment burning.

The Wailers: 2025 Tour Celebrating the 30th Anniversary of Natural Mystic: The Legend Lives On.
Embark on an extraordinary musical journey with The Wailers in 2025 as they commemorate the 30th anniversary of their acclaimed compilation album, Natural Mystic: The Legend Lives On. Following the success of their 2024 tour, which honored Bob Marley's legendary album Legend, The Wailers are set to bring the entirety of Natural Mystic to life on stage, offering fans a unique and immersive experience.
Released on May 23, 1995, Natural Mystic: The Legend Lives On serves as an addendum to the 1984 compilation album Legend. While Legend primarily features love songs, Natural Mystic delves into Bob Marley's more politicized and religious-themed works, providing a balanced perspective of his musical legacy. The album opens with the title track "Natural Mystic," where Marley warns of the need to "face reality now" amidst global upheaval and change. Other notable tracks include "Africa Unite," "So Much Trouble In The World," and "Iron Lion Zion," each exploring themes of unity, societal challenges, and personal resilience.
Under the skilled leadership of Aston Barrett Jr., son of the legendary Aston "Familyman" Barrett, The Wailers continue to preserve and enrich their timeless sound, bringing fresh energy and charisma to their electrifying performances.
As The Wailers embark on their 2025 tour, audiences can anticipate a full live rendition of Natural Mystic: The Legend Lives On, bringing its classic tracks to life on stage, alongside other classics and select tracks from the Grammy-nominated Evolution. This tour promises a unique blend of nostalgia and contemporary reggae rhythms, making each concert an unforgettable experience.
Don't miss this opportunity to witness The Wailers as they celebrate the rich legacy of Natural Mystic: The Legend Lives On while showcasing the groundbreaking artistry of Evolution. Join us for a tour filled with love, unity, and the powerful, uplifting vibes of reggae. The Wailers are back, bringing their A-game to stages across the world!

Venice Beach Dub Club Announces Collaboration with Hip-Hop Legend Keith Murray
VBDC’s "Jah Rx" Infuses Reggae Vibes with Old-School Hip-Hop Flavor
Legendary rapper Keith Murray (Def Squad) teams up with the reggae outlaws Venice Beach Dub Club (VBDC) in the highly-anticipated release of the "Jah Rx” (Redeye Remix) music video - a blazing fusion of gritty hip-hop lyricism and wavy Reggae rhythms. It‘s an instant crossover anthem.
“Working with Keith was a lifelong dream,” says Seth Caro, lead singer and songwriter of VBDC. “I remember driving around blasting his first album back in ’93, never imagining one day I’d be trading lines with him on a record. Having him on ‘Jah Rx’ is beyond surreal.”
Originally released in 2018 as VBDC’s breakout single, "Jah Rx" quickly became a fan favorite. VBDC frontman, Seth Caro, reached out to Keith Murray - his favorite rapper since his teens - to collaborate on a feature. To his surprise, Murray not only recorded an epic verse but also provided ingenious call-and-response adlibs throughout the entire song. The Redeye Remix is bursting with energy and swagger, daring fans not to sing along.
Keith Murray himself expressed his satisfaction, stating, “I loved the beat since the first time I heard it and the song is a statement. I enjoyed making it and I know people are gonna get down with it.”
With the "Jah Rx (Redeye Remix)," VBDC not only pays homage to Keith Murray’s legendary status but also solidifies their own place in the evolving music landscape. The collaboration showcases the power of music to transcend genres and generations, inviting fans old and new to embrace a new fusion of sounds. As Venice Beach Dub Club and Keith Murray unite, they remind us all that great music knows no boundaries…it's just a vibe.
“New York, stand up! The legend Keith Murray is back,” stats Caro. Stream the new song “Jah Rx (Redeye Remix feat. Keith Murray)” on Spotify and watch the official music video out now on YouTube @VBDC_music or at VBDCmusic.com.

Four Upcoming Holo Holo Music Festivals: San Diego, Sacramento, Tacoma, and Honolulu — Don’t miss out—lock in your pass today.
ABOUT HOLO HOLO MUSIC FESTIVAL
Holo Holo Music Festival was born from a love of island and reggae music—a genre deeply rooted in connection, culture, and movement. The festival first set sail in 2022 at Frost Amphitheater at Stanford University, bringing together fans to celebrate the vibrant sounds of the islands. With the spirit of holo holo—meaning "to travel, to sail, to move"—the event quickly expanded, reaching new shores in Las Vegas and Sacramento in 2023. By 2024, its journey continued with a highly anticipated stop in San Diego.
Now, in 2025, we’re excited to take Holo Holo even further, bringing the music and community to Oceanside, Las Vegas, Sacramento, Tacoma, and San Diego! As we continue to move and grow, the festival remains a space for connection—where fans can gather for two days of unforgettable performances, incredible food, and the shared love of island and reggae music.
For Good Vibez Presents co-owner Dan Sheehan, Holo Holo is more than just a festival—it’s a reflection of his roots. “Growing up in Ewa Beach, O‘ahu, island music and reggae were the soundtracks of my childhood. These styles—the heartbeat of the islands—are the backbone of my work as a festival producer and venue owner. A big part of Good Vibez Presents is about discovery, and I’m honored to showcase and celebrate these artists at Holo Holo Festivals.”
For over 25 years, Good Vibez Presents has produced hundreds of immersive, multidimensional concerts and festivals across the West Coast, Hawaii, Arizona, North Carolina, and Mexico. They are the driving force behind the California Roots Music & Arts Festival in Monterey, the largest reggae-rock festival in the country. With a deep commitment to supporting nonprofits, small businesses, and creatives, Good Vibez Presents continues to build events that foster community, uplift artists, and spread positivity.
Holo Holo Music Festival is more than just a gathering—it’s a journey. Enjoy a weekend of incredible music and good vibes! Choose the Holo Holo that is right for you!

If you wish (and we really wish you wouldn't) like to be removed from this list, please reply with REMOVE in subject line.
It will make us very sad if you do, and perhaps your removal will be the one the makes us decide this no longer worth doing at all, and all the information we provide will go away forever and musicians will sit home alone at night and cry because they have no one to play for because no one knows about their shows or music.
