The way of Jesus teaches us to condemn imperial violence.
Let us pray for peace with justice.
Let us pray for Congress to put guardrails on the President.
Let us add our voices to the dissent.
Grieve, and breathe. And take good care, giving yourself a break from the news when you need it. That relentless cycle will still be there when you return.
Let us love, turning toward community in peace with justice.

The Kim Maguire Quartet Headlines
"Midday Jazz at Alki UCC"

Free Concert!!
 Acclaimed Seattle-based jazz vocalist Kim Maguire joins us for the second installment of Midday Jazz at Alki UCC.
A 2017 Seattle/Kobe Female Jazz Vocalist finalist, Kim is described as a “stunning singer with an authentic and charismatic presence, her style is defined by joyful authenticity, highly developed technical skill, and a distinctive, silky-smooth vocal texture."
Joining Kim are Bill Anschell, piano; Chris Symer, bass; and Mark Ivester, drums.
Enthusiastic audiences have welcomed Kim at performances across the United States. Her signature blend of jazz and classical crossover reflects a career-long curiosity and commitment to authentic artistic expression.
Kim has performed on many regional and local stages including Houston Grand Opera, Fifth Avenue Theatre, Benaroya Hall, Seattle Jazz Vespers, Village Theatre and Town Hall. A regular at the Hotel Sorrento, she has also appeared at Tula’s, Egan’s, North City Bistro, Boxley’s, Vito’s, and Frederick Holmes’ “Hot Jazz in the Gallery” series.

Valentine's Celebration Fundraiser

The "Hearts for Alki UCC" planning team reports lots of energy and ideas at their initial session last week.
Here's what's in the works for our Valentine's Celebration Fundraiser on Saturday, February 14 in Anderson Hall:
🕔 Doors Open: 5:00 pm
🍝 Italian Supper Potluck: 6:00 pm ($30)
🎶 Introduction to Square Dancing: 7:00 pm (Free)
Led by our very own Diane J who will be teaching and calling as we dance the night away!
🛍️ Silent Auction: 5:00 to 8:00 pm
Cool experiences and stuff to bid on during the evening!

• Decorating and Setup: Led by Julia P
• Supper Donations of main course (pasta dishes), salad, desserts), Led by Sandy J

We’re also accepting silent auction donations. Consider contributing unique experiences or items. Here are just a few ideas:
